That concludes the latest installment of “Things I Wasn’t Expecting to Read Today.”

The Midnight Ride of Darragh Revere

This has been going around Boston:

The Midnight Ride of Darragh Revere

Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Darragh Revere,
In the political campaign of two thousand eight;
She and her kind were stormin’ the gate.

Who remembers that famous primary day,
When mean Darragh said to Ioway:
“If the darkie should win in your state tonight,
Hang a lantern aloft and cry feminist plight,
and unite with me as a beacon of white.”

“One if by land, and two if by sea;
And I for the opposite party will be.”

But wait said some who googled her name,
In campaigns gone by she gave to McSame.
Never to Kerry, not to Gore,
Not a penny to Edwards, nothing more.

“One if by land, and two if by sea;
If you nominate a black, I’m for Hillary.”

She’s ready to ride and spread the hate,
The PUMAs in tow won’t deviate.
The feminist cause on Fox she’ll spew,
Never admitting her racist view.

One if by land, and two if by sea,
PUMAs are for the white nominee.

(With apologies to Longfellow)

I love aimai

But then, I’ve always loved aimai. This, is quintessentially her:

Obama’s black, McCain’s white. Obama’s young, McCain’s old. Obama’s an egotist, so McCain must not have any ego at all. Of course Miss Mallard Fillmore [Joan Vennocchi] doesn’t fill in all the blanks correctly—McCain’s a son of privilege whose father’s family dominated his life; Obama’s the son of a rejecting, abandoning father who was never there for him. McCain’s mother always did everything society expected of her and remained at ease in her privileged surroundings; Obama’s mother never did. McCain failed upwards through school and the military, unable to deviate from the family line. Obama is a self made man. McCain’s family protected him from the consequences of his own behavior, Obama’s family couldn’t. Obama is faithfully married to the beautiful and dynamic young mother of his children. McCain is unfaithfully married to the drugged out, sad eyed, former barbie known as his own ex-mistress. Michelle shops at Target (while channeling Jackie!) while Cindy travels with her own stylist on her own private plane. I’ll go one further because its going to come up at the Rick Warren Come to Jesus—Obama’s a committed christian who accepted jeezus christ on a cracker in his life, personally. McCain, not so much. Obama sat in a church pew for twenty years listening to something. McCain did not. See, contrasts!

It’s The IQ, Smarty

OK—theagething—is hitting the ‘sphere. To which I say, the fucker can’t log in, crashed two airplanes, flew his plane into power lines, jokes about rape, missed out on the release of Europe version 1,345.0 and newer, has boundary issues, and finished 894th out of 899 in his Naval Academy class. Just because he’s in his 70s doesn’t mean he can use age to cover up his low IQ. He’s always been stoopit.

Clinton camp throws PUMAs under the bus

Tommy Christopher decided to look a little further into selected-not-elected head PUMA Will Bower’s claim that they raised $10 million dollars for Hillary during their July 4th meowathon.  This is what he found:

A spokesperson for the Clinton campaign had this to say:

As far as we know, that $10 million is a fallacy. We have not seen that money. It is our understanding that these groups provide links to our website, and there is no way to track which sites those donations come from. We have received no donations from the PAC.

Wow, if I was a PUMA, I’d want to know where my money was going.

Well, surely, Senator Clinton appreciates these groups’ efforts on her behalf, right?

We oppose any effort that doesn’t support a Democratic victory in the fall, including PUMA.

Ummmm ...

Stupid Sailor #2

Out of a class of 899 midshipmen, McCain finished behind 893 of them. So the PUMA-party candidate for President can’t even get an op-ed published:

Sen. John McCain, R-AZ, submitted an opinion piece to the New York Times last week and the paper has rejected it.
The rejection came Friday night from New York Times oped editorial page editor David Shipley via email: “I’d be very eager to publish the Senator on the oped page. However I’m not going to be able to accept this piece as currently written.”

Random thought

I really wish the anti-Obama forces would make up their minds as to whether Obama is the Messiah or Hitler. We can’t combine the two because Jesus would look downright silly with a Hitler mustache and Adolph is too angular and harsh-looking to pull off a long, flowing robe. It’s one or the other, people.  I’d like an answer by the end of the day.

Simple Answers to Simple Questions

Dave Weigel asks:

Are the PUMAs lying about their support, their numbers, or their fundraising just to get attention?

Answer: Yes.

This has been another edition of simple answers to simple questions.

[h/t Atrios for the “Simple” concept]

RELATED: Will Bower is still claiming that Hillary’s debt is “in the black.” Me thinks some PUMAs are going to be pretty upset when they find out at the end of August that Bower and the other self-appointed PUMA leaders (selected not elected) have been willfully deceiving them.

MORE: I’ll have probably my most innocuous PUMA post rolling in soon. Check back for 100% more dumbass.

SOMEWHAT RELATED: We make animations.  Click the image to see the inspiration (h/t Jenny):

Batshit Crazy Riverdaughter

IT JUST NEVER STOPS WITH THESE SILLY, SILLY PUMAS: TS at Instaputz discovered that the hotel Bower, whose pants must be ash by now, is billing as a five-star hotel at the PUMA Conference site is actually only a three-star one. And the Mary Kay promotion page featuring our ol’ pal Cynthia Ruccia has to be read to be believed (“all PUMAs wash their faces, yes?!”). I am PUMA!  Hear me exfoliate!

Darragh Murphy’s Visceral Hatred (Of Change, Not People of Color)

Yes, the hatred is visceral:

I’m attacking her for being a piece of shit who is so stupid that she thinks being swarmed by flies is the same thing as being popular. That’s all. Thanks for the email. Murphy.

What is it about Obama-led change that scares Boston’s Darragh Murphy so much?

Maybe it’s this:

Is Boston—America’s third-whitest major metropolitan area—as racist as it once was? Is this city of neighborhoods in fact a city of segregated ethnic enclaves?

Boston is becoming a city of minorities, said Orfield, quoting statistics from several CRP studies. In the 1990s, he said, the white population of metro Boston fell by 1 percent while minority populations rose: blacks by 30 percent, Latinos by 47 percent, and Asians by 88 percent.

Looking to the future, he said, “we’re not going to have the same Boston, metrowide, that we’ve had.”

Could it be that Darragh Murphy can’t make any sense of this change and consequently, on a visceral level, sees her whole world slipping away?

Heroes of the Day: Don Fowler & Alice Germond

Fowler, with Germond as a signatory, sent an email to “major donors and other leading Dems.” Here’s an excerpt:

I supported Hillary Clinton and am proud and pleased that I did. But she lost. Barack Obama won. It’s over.

It is time for all Democrats, supporters of Senator Clinton and all other contenders for the nomination, to stand with him to secure his election and the election of Democrats at all levels of competition.

I must confess a bit of fatigue and irritation with people who continue to carp, complain, and criticize the results of the primary and lay down conditions for their support. The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t establish conditions to recognize the Boston Celtics as NBA Champions; Roger Federer did not demand concessions before recognizing that Rafael Nadal defeated him at Wimbledon.

It is time to act in a mature and resourceful fashion. It’s time to put the primaries behind us. It’s time to support Barack Obama without conditions or demands.

You can read the whole letter at TPM.

[Hat tip Pumalicious!]
