Shorter Bob Somerby

Shorter The Daily Howler Monotony:

I can’t believe Eugene Robinson and Bob Hebert would defend their friend “Professor Gates.”  Elitists! Have I told you I was Al Gore’s roommate at Harvard yet? No? Al Gore. Al Gore. Al Gore.

Al Gore.

UPDATE: Al Gore.

MORE: It was really hard for me not to use the word “uppity” in this post.

Dr. Orly Taitz on MSNBC with David Schuster and Tamron Hall

Looks like it’s all-birther day here at Rumproast…

Here’s the video everyone’s talkin’ about it. Please make sure you check out Mrs. Polly’s latest post in her “The Orliad” series below before or after you watch this.

The Orliad, Book Six: I Dream Of Orly (with extra new Birthyness)

Why is Orly Taitz wearing sprinklers in her hair?, you may be wondering.

Well, because Obama’s wife’s sister-in-law’s house was worked on by Burlew plumbing aka Magic Plumbing just like the Magic Plumbing which worked on the sprinklers at the World Trade Center just a week before it fell, and you know what that means!

Now that’s out of the way, consider the sad tale of an admirer of Orly’s, one Major Cook,  and how hard it is to resist substituting a “K” for the “C,”
Impossible, in fact.

Shorter Cantor: Because shut up! That’s why.

Eric Cantor (R-Va.), has found the real cause for Birfitis. The Lieberuls! [h/t Wonkette]

Oh, don’t look so shocked. Surely you don’t think he’d blame it on the RealAmerican Bigoted Idiots & Dickheads who infest the GOP. Here’s the entire exchange [via Greg Sargent’s The Plum Line]:

Asked for Cantor’s views on birtherism, his spokesman, Brad Dayspring, emailed me this:

“Mr. Cantor doesn’t question the President’s citizenship, but he has serious questions about the President’s push for government controlled healthcare, taxes on small business job creators, and a huge energy tax on middle class families.

Let’s do what Cantor’s spokestroll should have done and stop right here. This is actually a decent answer. Alas, somewhere between typing the period after “families” and hitting send, the ingrained need to whine and be utterly, laughably wrong about everything took control:

Sunday Morning Music (Documentary): The Rolling Stones

Great stuff.  A very young Mick Jagger being “diplomatic” and Keith Richards calling Dean Martin “flippant.” I’ll post the remainder of this documentary when it becomes available. If anyone has more info about it, let me know in the comments. Enjoy.

American Thinker: Now With Updated and Expanded Stupidity

In the long, fetid history of fucktarded wingnut blog posts, this one ranks right up near the top:

I am stunned that the official White House Blog published this picture and that it is in the public domain. The body language is most revealing.

Sergeant Crowley, the sole class act in this trio, helps the handicapped Professor Gates down the stairs, while Barack Obama, heedless of the infirmities of his friend and fellow victim of self-defined racial profiling, strides ahead on his own. So who is compassionate? And who is so self-involved and arrogant that he is oblivious?

So instead of congratulating the White House for posting a photo that is extremely favorable to Crowley (and kinda sweet, too), the American Thinker opts to shiv Obama for his “body language” and also concludes that this proves he wants to kill the elderly and kneecap the handicapped.  Or something like that. See if you can figure it out. God I hate these people. [via Jesse Taylor]

UPDATE: If the American Thinker thought that photo from the White House beer fest was bad, they’re really gonna be upset about this one from Getty Images (check out the title):

The sunglasses and the wig don’t fool anyone, Obama.

Your Republican Party: “Redneck, [...] male chauvinistic pig, homophobic…”

From the letters section of the Star-Telegram:

Why so many titles?

I don’t understand why Americans have to be called something other than American. The only African-American I know of is Barack Obama. His father was African and his mother was American.

Everyone else I know is an American who happens to be black. I am an American who happens to be white. Others are American who have Italian, Irish or Indian ancestry — but they are Americans.

My real title would be too cumbersome to remember. I am a redneck, Southern Baptist, American-Indian conservative Republican, male chauvinistic pig, homophobic, veteran, Southern gentleman who still can’t wear his hat indoors or at a restaurant.

If you can’t see the humor in all this, you are a Naive American.

— Lee B. Downs, Mineral Wells

Umm, sorry, not seeing “the humor.” Someone want to steer me toward the punchline in that mess?

Why post this?  Because a video of Lee Downs being interviewed on FOX News was just uploaded to the GOP.com/RNC channel on YouTube. The Grand Ole Party likes what a redneck, homophobic, male chauvinistic pig has to say (especially since most of it isn’t true):
