. . . By the Company They Keep

Forget the polls for a minute . . .  these numbers from OpenSecrets tell a story, too:

*These tables list the top donors to these candidates in the 2012 election cycle. The organizations themselves did not donate, rather the money came from the organizations’ PACs, their individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals’ immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

Because of contribution limits, organizations that bundle together many individual contributions are often among the top donors to presidential candidates. These contributions can come from the organization’s members or employees (and their families). The organization may support one candidate, or hedge its bets by supporting multiple candidates. Groups with national networks of donors - like EMILY’s List and Club for Growth - make for particularly big bundlers.

I thought U. of California was a public-university system.  Can it make political contributions?

Interesting that T-Paw’s list is all banksters, then he ends up heading a bankster lobbying group… hoocoodanode?

And hilariously funny that Buddy Roemer’s list includes an invoice for $10 from Trident Seafood. Did a check for the shrimp platter bounce?

$10,000 for Newt from the Bay Area Surgical Group? How mysterious….but they do happen to offer plastic surgery.

Oh ... oops. Should learn how to scroll down. Passage is already quoted.

Hmmm, does Goldman Sachs no longer lurve them some Obama? I thought from the progressive betters that BOTH SIDES DO IT (and by “it” they mean the banking industry).
