A Biden Love

Yesterday, our Vice President spoke at the big Denver whoop-di-doo stimulus celebration, and our President, standing behind him, looked markedly happier when Joe stopped speaking. It’s always fun to watch Biden glad-handing, winking, and behaving for all the world as if he hadn’t nearly sunk the campaign ship every time he opened his mouth.

Amazingly, he’s a teetotaller, but he still gives the erstwhile Japanese Finance Minister a run for his money in the public appearance flaming catastrophe department. I can’t stop loving him.

I have a soft spot for Joe and I’m not embarrassed to admit it. No doubt he can be a gaffe machine but he also created one of the best snark lines ever with his “noun, verb and 9/11” jab at Giuliani. And the Violence Against Women Act alone will keep him pretty high on my list of favorite people. Not to mention that I thought he and Jill were ultra cute at the inaugural balls.

Joe’s a silver fox and his boys are extra easy on the eyes. They’re kind of like the Baldwins of politics, except they have brains.

I just like that when he speaks he give me the picture of an overloaded keystone cop car brimming with tall hats and nightsticks careening around a mountain road, barely missing total catastrophe at every hair-raising bend in the road.

I just can’t pull myself away. Is he going to go over the cliff? Or make it around another hairpin?

i suppose for a democrat joe biden’s attacks of foot-in-mouth might be unsual, but in comparison to any number of republican politicians who come out with an astonishing volume of flat out crazy statements on a daily basis, biden is an amateur, a piker.

look at michael steele. if he was a democrat, every news program in the country would be howling with laughter.
