A poll I’d like to see

I know this poll would be impossible to cobble together with factual data, but I’d love to see how many of Hillary’s female voters self-identified as being “feminists” before her coronation derailed (going back to, I guess, her loss in Iowa or maybe her drubbing in South Carolina). Those are some numbers I’d enjoy perusing, because with some of the vile stuff I’m seeing written by female Clintonites about Michelle Obama, Donna Brazile, Nancy Pelosi and Claire McCaskill, I’m having a hard time buying this “womyn power” bullshit emanating from Hillary’s dead-enders.

And then, of course, my post from back in March (how prescient am I?) still applies:

Feminist Fun Fact #28

If you’re a female Democrat and you plan on voting for McCain if Obama is the nominee just to be spiteful, you are not a feminist, so please stop pretending to be one. It’s embarrassing.

In addition, your uterus has asked me to tell you it hates you.

This concludes today’s feminist fun fact.

RELATED: The extremely wise Maha, whose blog has become one of my guaranteed daily “go-tos,” offers her take on Kentucky, sexism and the African-American vote. Here’s a taste:

In Clinton Land, only sexism counts. Last night on MSNBC someone from the Clinton campaign was being interviewed on MSNBC, and she was going on about how Barack Obama needs to speak out about sexism, and the interviewer — might have been Tweety — asked if Clinton was going to speak out about racism. And the Clinton campaigner sputtered and shuffled and clearly was caught off guard by the question.

The difference between the two campaigns, IMO, is that while there is all kinds of blatant sexism and racism out there –some of which is being expressed by partisans on both sides –I don’t see the Obama campaign cultivating sexism to win votes. I do, however, see the Clinton campaign cultivating racism (and one hell of a victim complex) to win votes.

And in answer to that question about Clinton speaking out about racism, no, she’s not.

FUN FACT: Obama beat Clinton among women in Oregon last night. This whole perception that nearly every female Democrat supports Hillary, created by foot-stomping and disingenuous pettiness like this, is exceptionally flimsy, but hopefully everyone but the dead-enders realizes that by now.

That would be an extremely revealing poll. I also wonder how long they’ve identified with the plight of hardscrabble Appalachians. To hear them tell it now, they practically lived one holler over from Lo-retta Lynn.

Oh, and their sudden attachment to blue collar working stiffs is also amusing. Mushy now works the words “lunch bucket” into posts as often as possble, as well as paens to the permanent dirt under her husband’s fingernails (he’s probably secretly digging a basement tunnel to escape the loon). Poseurs.

Betty, as usual, spot on.

When I was interviewed by The New Republic for an article they were doing on Marsh (the secret is out!—although I don’t think the article ever will be), I should have asked the writer what Marsh’s husband did for a living.  I’m guessing he’s not as blue collar as she implies, but I could be wrong.

BTW, I’ve worked as a janitor, a laborer in a sewage treatment plant (beat that one—I shoveled human excrement for a living) and a bouncer, among other blue-collary things.  Where in the fuck is my lunch bucket?

Yeah Tweety had Caputo up there stuttering and stammering…and when it all came down to it, she couldn’t lower herself any further to do her shill dance.  I think for a glimmering moment there I saw her soul and heart…and honestly I think she’s been so caught up in pushing Hill’s victim complex and the, “we have the most popular votes” meme that may have been the first time thinking of that point.

I sometimes see flashes of brilliance in Tweety.  And other I think the McCain camp has naked pics of him hidden somewhere…

I’m also curious, outside of the University communities of WV and KY…I’d be willing to bet that the populations of those two states are decreasing.  I recall the drive to pick my fiancee up from Ohio University (in Athens OH), and all I could think of is…this place is so beautiful…how could it suck so much…and lets not talk about radio stations…WV fails that test.

And places like KY, for years have flown under the racism scrutiny radar.  They have not recieved nearly the amount of attention because people make assumptions from the number of blacks that live there and its location so far north of less racist states.

Clinton is trying to drive me insane.

I think it is working.

John,

I’m way past insane.  I think I’ve settled into the catatonic stage.

Wow.  Kevin, John Cole reads Rumproast?  That’s pretty cool.

Well why your busy going insane were making things happen so sit back hold on and enjoy the trip…
