Al Franken on Elena Kagan

Franken is a pathetic, Kool-Aid-slurping Obot. Too bad we have to wait five years to primary his Rethuglican ass:

Elena Kagan is a brilliant and superbly qualified nominee. As the former Dean of Harvard Law School and first woman to be Solicitor General of the United States, she will bring a diverse background of impressive experiences to the bench. She has a record of bringing together people with a wide range of viewpoints. And importantly, Kagan is a nominee from outside the “judicial monastery”—that is one of her greatest strengths as a nominee.

But just as it’s important for Supreme Court justices to have a diversity of legal backgrounds, it’s also thrilling to see the Court begin to reflect the reality of our diverse population. I’m pleased the President has chosen to nominate another woman to the Court, and one who has been confirmed for office by members of both political parties should be confirmed without unnecessary difficulty.

Just because you disagree with his endorsement of Elena Kagan doesn’t mean you can dismiss him outright as an effective Democratic Senator.

You’re new around here, aren’t you?

I’ll spell it out for you… we’re are sarcastic mofos in this branch of the Interweb, and its series of connecting tubes…

We need to draft Bachmann.

If you checked your sense of snark at the door, please go back and retrieve it and come in again.  All will be forgiven.

Yall even threw me off for a second, but alas, without this the ‘Jane Hamster’ class would really push me over the edge.  Why doesn’t she just go full Dennis Miller already?  Personally, I think her pockets have been suffering so she’s parsing words for appearance fees.

I was thinking Palin, but it would only work if she thinks it means she’s going to be the lead singer in a tribute Motown band.

As for Senator Al, for many months after his election was finally settled I had many a schadenfreudtastic moment knowing that Rush Limpballs was boiling in his own bile everytime he thought about it or had to say “Senator Franken”.  When really, he should be grateful to Al.  After Al’s Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot, Rush was goaded into the few months of his life where he wasn’t morbidly obese.  It is quite apparent that the sting has worn off now though…

well, what does BTD think?  Because that’s what I’ve got tattooed on my wrist wwbtdd?

Just because you disagree with his endorsement of Elena Kagan doesn’t mean you can dismiss him outright as an effective Democratic Senator.

Heh. I was afraid that would happen. I guess I shouldn’t be amazed after all I’ve read from the manics that my lead-in wasn’t over-the-top enough.

well, what does BTD think?

He dropped this at BJ:

“Is this not a protest by you of too much opining on the Kagan nomination?

Obviously, some of us our lawyers and thus much more interested in this subject than most. I have written dozens of posts on the subject.

I like to think they are well researched and thought out. But to many, apparently including you, none of this is of interest.

So don’t read posts from those who are interested.

I see no reason why you found it necessary to write this post.

And if you are not protesting so many pixels on the Kagan nomination, then what precisely is your point in this post? ”

The funny thing is I’ll bet Cole didn’t have BTD in mind when he wrote his post because, as everyone knows, NO ONE CARES WHAT BTD THINKS.

BTD and Taylor Marsh should start a vlog together. They can rub each other’s bellies, stare at the camera and remind everyone how very important they are.

No kidding. I had a small run-in with him when he called himself fernando just before his very public marital problems and haven’t liked him since. It’s good to know I’m not alone in that regard.

Too bad John didn’t accompany the post with his “Chill the f**k out” Obama graf again.  BTD could have lost it all over again.

who’s BTD?

Heh. Good question, cynthia. BTD = Big Tent Democrat, a.k.a. Armando, whose main lair is at TalkLeft.

And maybe we need a This Post Is Snark tag, Kevin? I know we’d have to apply it to just about every post, but it might prevent future ugliness.

Too bad John didn’t accompany the post with his “Chill the f**k out” Obama graf again.  BTD could have lost it all over again.

That was such a bizarre argument. Oblomova illustrated BTD’s demeanor perfectly in that comments thread with this video.
