Almost Goodbye to Newt?

The last two print reporters have been pulled from the fundamentally finished campaign of one Newt Gingrich. I don’t think it’s because Gingrich’s campaign is entirely over, but nothing that gets said or done from here on in will be particularly good. If only there was a way to steal the ball bearing out of his dog-whistle as he sorts out whether he wants his campaign to end with a bang or a whimper.  Or a bang and a whimper.  Bets may be placed now for how he winds it up.

Whimper.

What, you mean it wasn’t over already?

Whimper, likely followed by a bang (with who knows who?)

Vixen, enjoying your posts - keep it up!

“Newt Gingrich on Monday began charging $50 to have a photograph taken with him following a campaign speech to Republican County groups here in the northernmost part of the state. It was the first time the former House speaker has charged . . .”

I’d rather Newt be a Never Was instead of a Has Been, but since that ship has sailed, I’d settle for a Never Again.

He will go out kicking and squealing like a pig, just as obnoxious and irrelevant as ever. The harder the GOP pushes him to leave, the louder and screechier he’ll get.

Go away, you gassy windbag.

GONG!

I’m counting on him to give a barn burner of a Buchanan speech at the convention.  The morally retarded (that is, the base of the Republican party) will eat it up, the rest of the nation will be disgusted.

Which points to Mitts biggest problem during the convention.  It will be a week long hate-fest where the modern GOP lets their crazy shine, right at time Mitt is trying to look sane.

He won’t get out until he has wrung the last drop of blood out of that turnip. But I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see him do a rendition of White Folks Uber Alles in Tampa like Buchanan did in Houston in ‘92.

MikeJ and Paul have the predictin’ business all sewed up.  My popcorn supplies are vast and secure, are yours?

I predict the convention will turn into a shootout as various teabaggers will use “Stand Your Ground” as a pretext for taking down political rivals.  It’ll be like The Thunderdome, only all “Blasters”, no “Masters”. Eventually, Super Sarah the Power Palin will come out in a chainmall ball gown and snag the nomination.

From your keyboard to the Noodly One’s ears.

I encourage Gingrich to keep spewing crazy just like I encourage Rush Limbaugh to do so - keep it fresh in everyone’s minds what a pack of bastards these folks are. It’s a useful, if unintentional, service.

A bang apparently if he has his way.

Put me down for five on the convention speech from hell, five on continued media presence on Fox, ten on small corruption “bang” from griftulent FEC shake-out of some kind. Feeling lucky, I am.
