Angle to Reid: I’m the ONLY One Allowed to Post my Crazy Wingnut Views - UPDATED

Yes, crazy, crackpot, lady teabagger Sharron Angle has sent Harry Reid & Co. a cease & desist letter telling them to KNOCK OFF putting Angle’s own stated views up on the Intertoobs because they’re using HER OWN WEBSITE!

For some backstory, after she won the primary someone on Angle’s campaign staff apparently actually read some of the stuff she was saying on her website, blanched with horror, and advised her to take it down. She did so and then put up a sparkly new, squeaky clean website which did not advocate ending Social Security and Medicare, abolishing the federal Departments of Energy and Education and opening the state’s arms wide to all the nuclear waste that could be packed onto Yucca Mountain.

Harry Reid’s campaign staff, thinking the world might want to know what Sharron Angle believed in BEFORE she didn’t anymore, dusted off the old website pages and put them up under the name of http://www.therealsharronangle.com. You won’t get there if you click on that now, though, because of the aforementioned cease & desist letter. Instead you are re-directed to Sharron Angle’s Underground Bunker., a not so subtle dig at Angle’s support of the Oath Keepers militia group and distrust of fluoridated water.

Too bad the Reid campaign caved so quickly but the copyright issues were probably hard to dispute. Regardless Angle in real life is a walking testament to her nutjob ideas - let’s just hope Nevada voters are taking notice.

UPDATE: Thanks to commenter Comrade Mary we learn that Harry did grow a set and has put Sharron Angle’s original website back up in all its glory for anyone who wants to see just what she really believes in.

Why on earth didn’t Reid’s campaign let her go after him? It would only amplify the quotes she’s trying to hide, and it would have a great campaign commercial… “Sharron Angle is tying up the courts because she’s losing on the issues. Is this her idea of how Nevadans’ tax money should be spent?”

No, it’s not just in Canada any more: Reid Re-Reposts Angle’s Old Website—Even After Threat Of Lawsuit.

The Reid campaign did initially take down the site, seemingly obeying the cease-and-desist, and rerouted users to one of their other anti-Angle sites. But now they’re put it right back up, simply removing the sign-up fields, some formatting and other identifying marks.

The press release:

Out of an abundance of caution, the Reid campaign decided to temporarily remove the website in question while we investigated their allegations. Well, the phony legal threats and the feigned indignation are over - and we’re not going to let Sharron Angle retroactively censor Sharron Angle. The original website, including Angle in her own words on her dangerous and extreme agenda, has been re-launched at: http://www.TheRealSharronAngle.com.

Just to be clear to Sharron Angle and her handlers, it’s called free speech and it’s nearly absolute under the First Amendment. (We know, these “big Constitutional issues” are tough for you - like when you said separation of Church & State was “unconstitutional” exactly one week ago.)

“The question is: what will Sharron Angle do now to hide her extreme views on killing Social Security and eliminating the Department of Education from Nevada voters? Perhaps she’s checking to see if there are any Second Amendment remedies,” said Jon Summers, spokesman for the Reid campaign.

Y’all need to read up on ol’ Harry. He may be tiny, but he’s a tough old bird.

Before he was elected to the Senate, he was Nevada Gaming Commissioner. He wrangled with The Mob and had the car bombs to show for it.

When the Dems were in the minority, he used to make Bill Frist step on his dick at least once a week.

Do not underestimate this man.

It was really stupid of Obtuse Angle to contest this, which no doubt led to wider publicity.

@ Hamletta: I’ve developed a pretty healthy respect for Reid over the past several months. I used to consider him a spineless twit, but he’s actually done pretty well channeling the tides in the cesspool that is the US Senate. I hope he hangs onto his seat. Angle is a godsend on that score.
