Ya know, fuck it. Let’s keep talking about simple, stupid things that have no bearing on our country, like Obama’s middle name.
Let’s keep focusing on the bullshit, the trivial, the unimportant and the vapid. It’s what we do best as Americans. We’re easily distracted, addicted to everything from TV to pain killers and yet, as our economy washes away in a stiff Humboldt breeze, we can’t seem to take the issues seriously.
234 of my neighbors lost their jobs today due to crashing Asian markets. The Pulp Mill—which had been heralded as an economic success story after it was bought and refurbished and brought back online, bringing in desperately needed jobs and income to Humboldt County—can’t sell it’s products on the open market and is closing its doors on Monday. Customers have no cash and no access to credit.
Thank you George Bush, you did us proud. Even Osama Bin Laden couldn’t inflict the damage done to our nation the way you have. Here’s a pat on the back from your Saudi cousins you fucking piece of shit.
