Yesterday in the check-out line, I saw a tabloid heading proclaiming that Octomom was calling out Kate for being a crappy, exploitive parent. Which was a little like reading that OJ disapproves of Chris Brown’s personal relationship skills.

For the record, I have never watched the show or seen or heard either of them or read tabloids, yet some how I still know all about them. WTF is up with that?

Well, see, Kate is a bitchy sufferer of OCD and Jon is an uncommunicative slacker and the two of them married in their early 20s and through the wonders of assisted reproductive technology managed to produce 8 kids in 5 years… and then through the miracle of desperate cable programming producers got their own TV show along with lots of extra goodies like expensive trips and housing upgrades… and eventually, through the sheer erosive nature of their personalities, Jon and Kate drove each other to the brink of insanity (and drove their kids to numerous acting-out behaviors)... and then they filed for divorce… and Jon got several new and very young girlfriends, some motorcycles, and a bachelor pad in Manhattan and Kate got really pissed off.  Oh, and I forgot to mention that they’re good Christians, you bet. Yep, it’s been 3 or 4 seasons of very precious memories.

Thank you Grace.  You will now be my GoTo person for information on obnoxious teevee fake celebrities.  Anything you can do to enlighten me on Heidi and Spencer will also be appreciated.  ;-)

I honestly dunno, but I’ve never watched that Idol somethingorother show either yet know several people who’ve surrendered huge swaths of their lives to it. Yet I keep seeing references to both.

In answer to your questions other than two names that I frequently see on tabloid covers when I am stood in line at the grocery store and some people that the nice lady on MSNBC on weekend mornings is forced to report on to the point one morning I honestly thought she was going to vomit on set, I have no idea who they are.  I personally think reality TV has been the downfall of civilized society, we are not far from going back to stadiums where people are fed to lions and forced to fight each other to the death (not that there is anything wrong with that if it rids us of the people who watch this drivel).
