Chuck “The Hammer” Grassley: “u think evrything is NAIL I’m no NAIL”

Yes, I will be proclaiming that “I’m no NAIL” for at least the next four to five days.  Someone warn my wife.

Twitter has removed the traditional buffer between legislators and the public. Unfortunately I think it’s just a matter of time before the tweets start coming straight from an aide or a PR agency.

Once again, life imitates Caddyshack:

“Yeah, well I ain’t no doorknob, either!”

Twitter has removed the traditional buffer between legislators and the public.

If I may enlarge the point, Twitter has removed the traditional buffer between exclaiming “Look, I made a floatie!” in the privacy of a locked bathroom stall, and having the same event streamed live on all three C-Span channels.

If you watch C-Span enough, you will actually hear something similar.

I just checked out the Wonkette link with Grassley’s other Tweets. My bad for not previously recognizing that Grassley is boogieman…although it doesn’t alter my estimation of either one.

As if Obama couldn’t tell a nail from a wingnut!

On behalf of a good portion of Iowa, I didn’t vote for him.

He’s a… let me pick the right word… pretty fair Senator and, frankly, represents Iowa pretty well. (I mean that he and Harkin represent the attitude of Iowans as a relatively moderate bunch of folks.)  I’m a little surprised to see him pull this kind of bullshit Republican PR stunt, to be honest, but maybe he’s making up for lost time and waxing nostalgic for the Rove years, who knows…

I guarantee that Al Gore would draw a bigger crowd than Grassley, though, if you had a fairground grandstand to fill.

WaPo’s The Fix concurs.

“I’m no NAIL,” tweets Senator Grassley.

“You can say that again,” laments Mrs. Grassley.

I’m giving this my Best Comment Award!
