Coming Soon! Clash of the Tight Uns

It’s a while since we’ve had a liveblog and debate livestream, but tonight we’re going to be blogging the life out of this I Wanna Be President/Let’s Kill Off a Few More Factcheckers argumenty thang and drinking till our livers bale out in search of more convivial, more caring homes.

Check in around 9pm ET, when the sorry caboodle goes live, or if you’d prefer to drink and throw bricks and unwary domestic critters at the screen alone, check in a little later for our post-debate chillout/WTF was that moderator thinking?!!!/drownsorrows/jubilate/arglebargle thread, where we’ll no doubt be letting it all hang out in style.

Date? Date.

I’m going to miss out on the liveblogging (gotta nap before the graveyard shift), but here’s my prediction.  I think the whole “zingers” thing is an attempt to have Mittens use St Ronbo’s “There you go again” line.  If you squint real hard, Romney looks a little like Reagan, with the brylcreemed, Grecian Formula helmet hair.

Of course, President Obama’s best counter to that gambit would be a Lloyd Bentsenesque “Governor, you’re no Ronald Reagan.”

Have fun, I look forward to reading a hilarious live-blogging retrospective when things are quiet at work.

Looks like the widely predicted trafficageddon here is not going to come to pass.  Our office overlooks I-25, which runs pass the University and is scheduled to be closed for a 6 mile stretch from 5:00 - to 10:00 or thereabouts.  Right now the traffic out there is lighter than it would be on Christmas Day including the side roads.  It was fairly heavy most of the early afternoon though so I’m assuming every one took the latter part of the day off.  I know most of our office cleared out.  I’m only a couple of miles away so I was planning to use side streets but looks like I’ll have no trouble on Colorado Blvd.

I do have to credit CDOT (CO Dept of Transportation) which did a great job of getting the info out on the road closings so most people wouldn’t be caught unawares.

In the meantime, check out this brilliant Mitt Romney parody, sung to the tune of Gangnam Style.
