Control Freak Out

I think Steve M. is right about this:

...“control” is going to become one of those right-wing shibboleths, alongside the likes of “czar” and “teleprompter”—words wingers say to each other to experience that thrilling shared sense of knowing the secrets of the universe that “they” won’t tell everyone else! The word “control” will start appearing on tea-party signs, and a lot of people won’t quite know what the hell it means.

UPDATE: There are some days I should just run a feed from Steve’s blog over here.  This is one of those days...

The Glenn Beck/Andrew Breitbart/right-wing blogosphere nexus scored a couple of quick hits a while back—Van Jones, ACORN—and it’s almost as if that rapid success has become a curse rather than a blessing. These guys want another kill, desperately; they’re like a band that topped the charts early in their career and are now feeling dread as they face the possibility that they may have peaked at the age of 23.

“Control the media” is a venerable right-wing smear, directed variously at liberals, communists, gays and the Joos depending on the phase of the moon.

Was that the Dunn bombshell that Beck predicted would bring down the administration?

Speaking of Jews, I assume everyone has heard about the editorial by two GOP clowns in South Carolina that lauded Senator DeMint for watching public money like a Jew. I was going to post something about it, but really, what is there to say? Besides “STFU, troglodytes!” I mean?

The word “control” will start appearing on tea-party signs, and a lot of people won’t quite know what the hell it means.

I’d assume they were reminding one another to keep those sphincters clenched.

lauded Senator DeMint for watching public money like a Jew.

2009. The year the GOP offended EVERYONE.

I’ve heard the watching the pennies saying but never have I heard it attributed to Jewish people.

Yep. From the T&D’s comments:

” According to a Google search, this statement has been primarily attributed to Benjamin Franklin. There are no search results attributing it to “Jews” except . . . references to the GOP press release! “

I’d say it’s worth a post Betty. Maybe wait for the obligatory backpeddling and sulky “Sorry if I hurt your stupid feelings” non-apology.

Was that the Dunn bombshell that Beck predicted would bring down the administration?

I believe so.

Wake me when the fright-wing gay-porn male escort dude is getting to ask questions at the White House pressers.

“right-wing.” Totally Freudian, I swear!

@Oblomova

yet appropriately seasonal. ;)
