Control Freak Out
I think Steve M. is right about this:
...“control” is going to become one of those right-wing shibboleths, alongside the likes of “czar” and “teleprompter”—words wingers say to each other to experience that thrilling shared sense of knowing the secrets of the universe that “they” won’t tell everyone else! The word “control” will start appearing on tea-party signs, and a lot of people won’t quite know what the hell it means.
UPDATE: There are some days I should just run a feed from Steve’s blog over here. This is one of those days...
The Glenn Beck/Andrew Breitbart/right-wing blogosphere nexus scored a couple of quick hits a while back—Van Jones, ACORN—and it’s almost as if that rapid success has become a curse rather than a blessing. These guys want another kill, desperately; they’re like a band that topped the charts early in their career and are now feeling dread as they face the possibility that they may have peaked at the age of 23.
