Cue wingnut & PUMA heads exploding in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

WaPo‘s article about the Obama family’s two-week stay at the Hay-Adams hotel in D.C. is sure to provoke much heartburn today:

Just off the lobby, where a lavish $65-a-plate Sunday brunch was underway, almost none of the well-dressed diners mentioned Obama or his family already ensconced in a suite upstairs.

Don’t let the cool demeanors fool you, though, said one diner. “That’s what everyone’s thinking about even if they don’t say it,” Terrance Mason said later, a safe distance from the elegant dining room. “Just to be in the same building, to be breathing the same air. It’s amazing.”

Ha ha.  “It’s amazing.”  Too funny. Bonus points in comments to the first person who finds a blog post or comment where this quote is driving someone insane. I love this game!

The seal is on the plane because it’s one that’s been used by Laura Bush and Cheney, but I’m sure that won’t stop some head explodin’ today.

Tim Graham at NewsBusters arrives in record time!  Will the wingnuts win on time, or can the PUMAs catch up on style?

Sean wins!

BTW, I got an email from Tim Graham a while ago about our Sexiest NewsBuster post!  He was none too pleased about it.

Will the wingnuts win on time, or can the PUMAs catch up on style?

Sean was quick. We need another contest. Maybe find the first person to scream because PE Obama and family are staying at the HA downtown instead of the EconoLodge in College Park.

Kevin—What, because he didn’t win the contest?  If I were looking for a dude, I’d have a tough time choosing between Tim and Mr. Noodles on looks, but Tim’s touching insecurity pushes him ahead.  Blunt Head Trauma, on the other hand, damn…

HTP—I was almost embarrassed to send in Tim, since his post lacked panache (and I hadn’t seen his sexy mug).  I’m still hoping for better.  Oh, and I am already stockpiling champagne, popcorn, and handi-wipes (There Will be Spit-Takes) for inauguration day.

Getting close to the EconoLodge moment:

Who is going to pay for that?  The bill will be - what?  $50,000/day for ten or twelve days until the Obamas move 200 yards into Blair House and then across Pennsylvania Avenue?

Apparently the bill will not be paid by the government.  It will be paid be “private donors?”  WHO ARE THESE PRIVATE DONORS?

Barrack Obama’s campaign reeked of big donor money from Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

Wait, there’s more! From the comments our intrepid blogger shows signs of collecting dead cats and soda cans*:

My wife agrees that Mrs. Obama should have asked someone like HRC to take care of the children while they started school. She lives near Sidwell Friends. That would have had the added advantage of embarassing the Republicans who deserve it.

Yeah, ‘cos HRC doesn’t have anything better to do what with prepping for her SoS hearings. And why would the girls mind if mommy and daddy dropped them off with the lady who said mean things about daddy?

WOW.

Is there a way to set the PUMAs on him? That would be fun to watch.

*H/T whoever.

HRC as temporary nanny.  I love it.  Wonder if anyone asked her yet?

He was none too pleased about it.

I should say not!  Every other guy had a cute, sexy little nickname and his just said “Tim”.
