Did Palin’s press agent push the panic button?

Sarah Palin’s adorable sidekick Greta Van Susteren was interviewing Fox colleague Karl “Turdblossom” Rove about the effect of the Bush Depression on Republican prospects for the 2012 race, Obama’s elitist vacation, etc. The subject turned—as ever—to other Fox colleague Sarah “Quitting Bull” Palin, Rove’s recent remarks about her getting into the 2012 race and Team Quitting Bull’s caustic response to Rove’s speculation. From the transcript (because I can’t get the bloody, buggery video code):

ROVE: Yes. Well, first of all, I do assume she—she—when her—when SARAHPAC issues a statement, I assume that Governor Palin authorized the statement. So she knew exactly what SARAHPAC was going to say. But look, here’s the deal…

VAN SUSTEREN: I didn’t even know about, but OK.

ROVE: Oh, yes. Yes, that’s where—that’s where—that’s where her comment came from was a statement put out by SARAHPAC. But look, she’s a big—she’s a potentially big factor in the presidential election. If she were to get in, she’d be a “contenda,” as they would say. She was the vice presidential nominee in 2008. She maintains a following.

There are people who want her in and there are some people who would be deeply concerned if she did because she’d be eating into their—into their ranks. But she’s a player. And so if she doesn’t want to be speculated about, then end the speculation by saying, “I’m not going to be a candidate.”

Until then, I would just recommend she might get a slightly thicker skin because if she’s got this thin a skin now, when people are saying, Well, I think she might be a candidate, what kind of—how’s she going to react if she does get into the campaign and gets the scrutiny that every presidential candidate does get? I mean, that’s not going to be a pretty sight if she’s as thin-skinned in the fray as she is on the edges of it.

At that point, the interview was abruptly cut off with a “breaking news alert” about Steve Jobs’ resignation, which was definitely NOT breaking news at that hour. You can see the clip at The Raw Story here.

Rove also says he suspects Palin would be whining about LACK of coverage if no one was paying attention to her. Those are probably the truest words the cretinous bastard has ever uttered in his miserable life.

Pity poor, poor Sarah.  Gov. Shitkicker has stolen her mojo and now she’s been reduced to being nothing more than a political cocktease.  I’m sure that any day now, we’ll get another ‘Hey! I’m still here! And I’m still probably not running for POTUS!’ video, except this time she’ll have to show some cleavage to keep her Viagra inundated fan club’s interest piqued.  I’m sure the press will love it, though.  As they love all things Sarah.

At least some parts of the transcribed segment are here.

Oh, Karl, did you just slyly intimate Palin has a touch of cannibal in her?. If so, I agree fully, cuz you are outstanding in that field.

Somehow, the unholy collision of $ciento1ogy, Fox News, the Republican establishment and the teabagger nation has managed to kinda function together for awhile now. But I don’t see how it can possibly continue.

This is good news for John McCain!

Good point, Trollhattan. Rove is an amoral pig, but no one can accuse him of not keeping his piggy little eyes on the prize, which is Republican control of all branches of the government. That’s why he was honest enough to call O’Donnell and Angle out for the kooks they are back in 2010. That’s why he’s trying to neutralize Palin now.

I have the same problem when I try to embed Fox videos.  I thought it was because the guy who paid too much for MySpace wasbeing infantile and trying to get back at Blogger (Google)....

On Fox videos, you have to go to the show page and wheel through a bunch of clips and either go the end, highlight the top of the frame to find the “Share” function or click on the weird triangular dot shape down in the play-bar, I don’t remember which.

In any case, the original Fox clip is here. Hope that helps, Betty.

Now that I got it to play, here’s the embed code.

[removed][removed]<noscript>Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com</noscript>

It was under the “Share” fuction at the top of the frame.

OK, forget that—just go to the clip, click Share, then click Copy to Clipboard under the Embed block.

Thanks, Strange. I actually did find the stupid embed code, but when I previewed it in the back office, it wouldn’t display for some reason. I’ve got software to illegally record video and post it to YouTube, but I didn’t think Rove, Greta or Quitting Bull were worth the effort, so I just said, “Fuck it!” No one will ever accuse me of being a very diligent blogger.

Poor Rove.  If only he had stuck to the Greta-approved script:

Raymond Shaw Sarah Palin is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I’ve ever known in my life.”

Betty, it NEVER shows in the back office but it appears on the front page.

To test it, I close the post, blank out the Pings then upload it and check the FP. Then I go back and load all the right settings.

Thanks again, Strange. Just one more reason to hate fucking Fox.

Greta don’t know nothin’ ‘bout no “SarahPac”, nosiree…

She don’t even know what street Alaska is on.
