Don’t Let the Open Door Hit You in the Ass

From Gallup:

Just 45% of Americans would like to see Sarah Palin become a major national political figure for many years to come, while a slight majority of 52% say they would not. These sentiments are sharply divided along partisan political lines.

Over three-quarters of Republicans would like to see the former vice-presidential nominee and current governor of Alaska become a major national political figure in the years ahead, in sharp contrast to the 43% of independents and 20% of Democrats who share that attitude.

I know a few commenters have self-diagnosed themselves with extreme cases of SPF (Sarah Palin Fatigue), but count me among the 20% of Democrats who never want her to go away.

I’m with you—I want her to become THE face of the GOP. Josh Marshall at TPM had a funny perspective on it:

I quite agree from a partisan perspective. [Palin 2012] The more Palin the better. But I think we also need to think about this from the broader perspective of national dignity. And simple human decency. You’re at a party and someone’s drinking too much and starting to do embarrassing things. Even you don’t like them, and even if the unlovely part of you thinks it’s kind of funny, still someone should step in. On the other hand, if Rush and Sean, are up for it, maybe we just tap another keg?

And 90% of male Republicans and 50% of male Democrats said they would still do her in a heartbeat.

Clearly Alaska is not RealAmerica(R).

Personally, I won’t be satisfied until we’re blessed with a picture of her un-pantied cooch as she’s getting out of a car.

America, Fuck Yeah!

I guess God didn’t feel like opening that door. How unchivalrous of him. God = sexist-pig woman-hater.

I wish God would show us a sense of humor by opening a door for her that leads to a bottomless chasm.
And be careful what you wish for Kevin , it would be just our luck that they make her the nominee in 2012 , and with the help of voter dumbfuckery , and Diebold “malfuntions” she become President. I know it sounds far fetched , but these freaks DID elect Bush twice.

It’s an ambivalent feeling for me.  On one hand I would like Palin to be the face of GOP so America can see how far down the hole GOP has gone.  But on the other hand, there’s a chance that stupid and uninformed people will vote for her, and America does not have a shortage of those!  Do we really want to take a chance at this?  I would be the rest of the 80% democrat and not want to play dice with the future.

I want her to go away because I find her uninteresting.  She has no information to impart and no ideas worth listening to.

From a political standpoint, beating her again would be kind of fun.  But still, we’d have to listen to her talk some more.

Yes.  Because the great Stupid and Uninformed will vote for whoever is on the Repub ticket.  A better candidate would draw the less Stupid and Uninformed in too.  Palin would have the same repellent effect on the Smart and Informed voters that she did this year but in spades if she were top of the ticket.  Just keep talk, talk, talkin Sarah.  You’re doing fine.

She’s massively entertaining AND she serves as a great method by which you can tell if your new friend or co-worker is unencumbered by even an atomic particle’s worth of intelligence. If they like her it means they’ve had a brainectomy OR haven’t been laid since the Reagan administration. See, inadvertently she serves all mankind in this simple manner.
