Earth to Brit:  Christianity is not the Issue

The issue is that you suggested Tiger should abandon his identified Buddhist religious beliefs in favor of Christianity because Christianity is apparently superior in your viewpoint.

Hume, a Fox News analyst, told CNSNews.com: “There is a double standard. If I had said, for example, that what Tiger Woods needed to do was become more deeply engaged in his Buddhist faith or to adopt the ideas of Hinduism, which I think would be of great spiritual value to him, I doubt anybody would have said anything.”

People probably wouldn’t have said much if you had suggested that Tiger become more deeply engaged in his Buddhist faith.  But THAT’S NOT WHAT YOU SAID.  You said he SHOULDN’T BE A BUDDHIST AT ALL.  Instead he should be a CHRISTIAN!  Because Christians are just, you know, better.  More forgiving and stuff.  Which is, like, insulting to people of the Buddhist faith and indeed insulting to anyone who believes that people should be allowed to decide for themselves what faith to embrace IF ANY!!

Get it now?  kthxbye

What Hume meant to say is that America should invade Tiger’s country, kill his leaders and convert Tiger to Christianity. That’s what Ann Coulter would do.

Thank Christian God that Christians never cheat on their wives, amirite, Mark Sanford/Larry Craig/David Vitter/Bill Clinton/Newt Gingrich/Andsoforth?

That dickbag anti-gay activist Peter LaBarbera got all pissy at me because I pointed out that very fact, that Christians NEVER run around on their wives, NO NEVER, and also how they’re pathologically obsessed with redemption stories, no matter whether they’re true or not!

Yeah! We should judge people by the things they could have said or done, not what they actually say or do.

So Brit has to eat a big helping of dicks from the StFu bag because the people criticizing him could have agreed with him.

Looks like Britty knows what he said was offensive and is trying to walk it back.  Problem s that his fans and most of the media will give him a buy.

It’s the context that matters too. I’m guessing most people believe their particular faith or lack thereof is superior; I firmly believe the world would be a better place if everyone else would adopt my brand of godless heathen humanism.

However, to people still laboring under the delusion that Fox is a purveyor of news, it was kind of startling to see a “journalist” launch into an altar call worthy of a tent revival preacher. No one would give a shit if he said it on the 700 Club.

Color me shocked that Hume is embracing the Christian martyr mantle. It’s surprisingly effective in a country utterly dominated by his co-religionists.

Yeah, Tiger can convert to islamism too.
They are so forgiving and you can marry the so called whores if you like or just stone them like the pomfret Muhamedinejad said and keep golfing.
Just saying

I feel sorry Mr. Hume.  An aging self proclaimed “Christian” who profits from bearing false witness.

Without that Christian forgiveness and redemption, he is so effed.

Good post, marindenver and well said!
