Fact-checking the fact-checker’s fact-checker

PolitiFact, a Pulitzer Prize-winning fact-checking organization, issued its totally-not-coveted “Pants on Fire” rating to Sarah Palin for the ginormous whopper she told on Fox News earlier this week:

“Democrats are poised now to cause this largest tax increase in U.S. history.”

As it turns out, letting the Bush tax cuts expire for the wealthiest Americans would restore tax rates to Clinton-era levels and result in a tax increase that’s smaller than the one championed by Palin’s hero Ronald Reagan. Hence the “Pants on Fire” rating from the non-partisan group.

But Snowpack Snooki isn’t going to let mere facts get in the way of lying demagoguery. She took to Facebook to “fact-check the fact-checkers,” with results that make Wile E. Coyote look like a super genius Roadrunner catcher.

Maybe it was all the words and numbers PolitiFact used to explain the rating. Perhaps this cheesy 60s music video would be easier to comprehend:

That video is all kinds of awesome.  Palin?  Much less awesome.

Ah, that video takes me back.  Did I ever mention I used to be a go-go dancer?  No?  Well then, no comment.

Give Palin a break.  If it weren’t for lies, she’d have nothing to say, also, too.

South Dakota, represent!

(But isn’t that drummer a little young to be around a grown woman shaking her dirty pillows around?)

I noticed that too, Comrade Mary—that drummer is probably 55 now.

Sarah also appears to have stolen her repertoire of facial expressions from the Castaways’ lead singer.  Or perhaps they’re fueled by the same pharmaceuticals.

Oh Snap!  She really got those crazy number usin’ fact checkers.  I like how she argues against PolitiFact using hypotheticals, with the use of hypotheticals. Now that’s reasoning I can get behind.

I graduated from HS in 1965 - thanks for the video! Oh, and Allen - I think Ms P has access to way more pharmaceuticals than these kids did back in those semi-innocent days.
