Fish, barrel ... Aw heck, you know the drill by now

Did you feel a shift in the force earlier in the day? No, it wasn’t just Paul Ryan wailing, “Hey, where the heck did he go?” as Tim Pawlenty baled out from the Romney campaign to spend more time with money, followed by the whimper: “... Can I come too?

Mittens has a new gamechanger, and BY GOLLY HE’S GOING TO STUMP IT. And the borg rejoice. From CNN’s politicalticker:

Romney opens new line of attack against Obama

The president today threw in the white flag of surrender again. He said he can’t change Washington from inside, he can only change it from outside,” Romney thundered to an audience of several thousand in Sarasota. “Well, we’re going to give him that chance in November. He’s going outside!”

Romney said he “couldn’t believe it” when he heard reports the “president of change” had said Washington needed to be changed from the outside.

“Isn’t that amazing? No wonder he’s had such a hard time over the last four years,” Romney said. “His first two years he had a Democratic House, Democratic Senate, he got to do whatever the heck he wanted to, but he says he can’t change it from the inside. Well, I will.”

*Sigh* Roll tape from 2008:

Wait, the people who think restricting voting by caging and voter ID laws consider it a gaffe if it’s implied that the people and their involvement in the political process can bring more power to bear than those working inside the system?

Imagine that!

Wow. Romney’s new dancing horse is Gaffalca, and he’s just going to ride that pony from one perceived issue to the next.  Very (un)presidential.

Romney’s new dancing horse is Gaffalca

That’s a keeper.

At this point I’m unclear exactly what’s going on. Is Mittens’ campaign feeding this stuff to the righty blogs to get them to run with it (as that HuffPo link up there implies was the gameplan, and as my harping on the borg keeps hammering away at), or is he taking his lead from the righty blogs because he’s got absolutely nothing?

One thing, though: The Tea Party was supposed to be that “outside force” (yeah, right ...) in 2010, and we all know how that worked out. So maybe they’re ... no I can’t say it. Oh, OK. Maybe they’re learning.

The wrong lessons. Over and over again.

I’m going with getting this from the righty blogs because he has nothing—it’s like he’s trying to cultivate their bullshit blossoms in the mainstream, but they aren’t getting the right atmosphere.

Expecting the national campaign of a major party presidential candidate to rely on juice from the yodelers in the echo chamber would be…

(Gazing out window as a dog barks in the distance, stroking chin.  I’m expecting things to make logical sense….that can’t be right.)

Well, if Mitt is taking his lead from the borg, he needs to think outside the box more. I mean, this story has much longer legs:

Guess who’s trashing Obama campaign signs in Austin, Texas?

Also critters. You neglect the Cute Overload vote at your peril.

You neglect the Cute Overload vote at your peril.

WIN! I love CO!

Question: are Mitt and Boner related? That skin tone looks like “Atomic Tangerine” by Crayola.

Expecting the national campaign of a major party presidential candidate to rely on juice from the yodelers in the echo chamber would be…

See, I think they look so befuddled because they’re used to the Puke Funnel actually working.  I mean, it’s worked for how many election cycles in the past?  So perhaps, the appropriate isn’t “is our TeaTards learning,” but, “is our Village stenographers learning?”

I daren’t but watch and dream, at this point.

This is pretty classic Mitt but it’s not quite as fun as when the bombast trolls roll out shit they already tried to use in 2008 (REV. WRIGHT BITCHEZZZZ!) and pretend it’s a big scoop.

Thank you for the kind words, and the link.

Keep fighting the good fight.

Thank you, Hart!
