Flush It Down the Tapper

What a tool:

ABC News White House reporter Jake Tapper e-mailed [Gov. Mark Sanford’s spokesman Joel] Sawyer twice on June 23, both to note coverage of competitor NBC.

With a subject line of “NBC spot was slimy,” Tapper e-mailed Sawyer a “Today” show transcript of Sanford coverage, calling it “insulting.” Later, Tapper forwarded Sawyer a Twitter post [this one—TPMmuckraker] by “Meet The Press” host David Gregory.

Jeff Schneider, a vice president at ABC News, said Tapper was “carrying some water for producers who knew he had a relationship with the governor’s office.”

You know what else carries water?  Toilets. They’re also good for flushing away your career by appearing to be a sycophantic douchenozzle.

I can’t stand Tapper. Among his many sins, he was a self-important, sanctimonious prick when he busted Obama for smoking. I’m sure he’s a real fun guy off the clock. Not.

Jake is being especially tweety today.  Think he’s trying to change the subject?  Lots of half-assed mea culpas mixed in with other shiny objects…

Ya know, this is why journalists such as Sy Hersh deserve our respect. Once asked why he is continually able to research and write so many stories outlining the bullshit that comes from Washington when other journalists scrape for access in an effort to seem relevant and an “insider” he stated (and I paraphrase) “I don’t accept invitations to their cocktail parties or weekend barbecues. I don’t spend the weekend at their cabins, I’m here to investigate not make pals.”

Contrasted with the likes of Tapper who can’t bend over far enough to be allowed to tweet and blog about their “insideriness”. That tool needs to lose his job, we expect this from FOX and the Washington Times, they are propaganda outlets, but Tapper, posing as an objective journalist just admitted unwillingly that he violated the most basic tenets and ethics of his profession.

Then again, maybe not. He’s certainly not a journalist, but a Beltway stenographer.

Jeff Schneider, a vice president at ABC News, said Tapper was “carrying some water for producers who knew he had a relationship with the governor’s office.”

I assume this should be “whom he knew had…”

Tapper has been around way for anyone to believe he was just a little peon trying to give his boss a nice surprise. Tells you a lot about the culture of ethics at ABC, no?

as someone commented on some other blog, jake was carrying it in his mouth, and it wasn’t water.
