Free-ish Republic

A note from the owner:

NOTICE: FR DOES NOT AND WILL NOT SUPPORT ABORTIONIST, GAY RIGHTS PUSHING BIG GOVERNMENT STATISTS FOR PRESIDENT!!

This message is intended for those posters on FR who seem to have missed my prior statements in this regard and insist on advocating for these bastards.

I’d rather shut the place down than be involved in any effort to install abortionist/gay rights pushing RINOS like Romney or Giuliani into the White House!!

Do NOT push this crap on FR. Take your business elsewhere!! And I don’t care how long you’ve been here!!

Because, gawdammit, an America where gay people can have abortions won’t be worth saving.

Brian: Excuse me. Are you the Judean People’s Front?
Reg: Fuck off! We’re the People’s Front of Judea.

Shorter Jim Robinson: I won’t rest until the GOP convention can be held in a broom closet!

I won’t rest until the GOP convention can be held in a broom closet!

Well,  a closet would be appropriate for some of the Freepers, I’m sure.

Very interesting.

I’m reminded of a meeting notice on meetup.com that I saw a few days ago.  I had planned to copy it here for future reference, but forgot. It was pretty funny, in the same way the Freeper post is.

The notice was for a new meetup group for people of all races.  The only catch was that you had to be heterosexual.

I was tempted to write back saying that I thought this was a great idea, and I was looking for something along the same lines.  Except I was looking for a group open to all sexual orientations, but they had to be of the same race.  I was open to any race for being the one as long as they had a nice flag.

That reminds me of FR.  Except less inclusive.

So support for Gary Johnson is out.  And Mitt Romney, depending on what day it is.

JimRob is still smarting from the Fred Thompson fiasco of 2008.

This time, he’s going to be damn sure FR backs a crabby, mean-spirited Paleocon who doesn’t blow up the moment he/she announces.

So support for Gary Johnson is out.  And Mitt Romney, depending on what day it is.

It’s pretty dicey for Ron Paul over there, too, but for other reasons.

God, remember when Fred Thompson was supposed to be such a game-changer? Before that, remember when Hillary and Rudy were the presumptive nominees and everybody else should just pack it up? 2007 was so silly.

Let’s not forget, “Gay rights advocates hold vigil to thank gov. Hunstman

I’ve lived in Utah for over 20 years, and I never thought I’d see the day when any Mormons were catching shit for being too gay-friendly.

Rick Perry’s out because he didn’t wall off the Rio Grande, and he signed legislation mandating papilloma vaccinations for teenage girls.

God, remember when Fred Thompson was supposed to be such a game-changer?

Boy, do I.

Everyone should click the link in xecky’s post and read the comments. They are simply unbelievable.

This is my personal favorite:

You wanna bet that new Law and Order episodes will have Branch acting more and more Batty and Fascist so the unbathed masses who believe TV is real will stray from Thompson? I have a feeling We are going to hear interesting things from Branch after his announcement that he’s considering a run.

Just how Homowood works.

The post xecky links to is an extended Chuck Norris style rant about all the great things Fred Thompson can do. Since the point of those rants is that they are obviously false at first I thought the whole thing was a parody of the great white hope syndrome but a quick glance at the comment thread disabused me. Almost every one of those guys was a true believer in the Fred Thompson legend, also the legend of Republican gold.  The whole thing is priceless.

Old Spice!
