H8

The intrepid R.J., proprietor of Cali Tejano 2.0, has a revealing post up over at his place. In the sidebar, R.J. notes:

I may be straight, but my LGBT brothers and sisters deserve the same rights I have when it comes to marriage. We’re not going to let non-resident bigots tells us Californians how to live our lives without a fight. Trust me. And please sign this petition to help strip the Mormon Church and other intolerant churches of their tax-exempt status.

Everyone should check out R.J.‘s post and then pass it around.

I’ve got plenty more where that came from:

Also check out Firedoglake. The Religious Right is now taking aim at Massachusetts next election.

Thanks, R.J. I have family in Ramona and Poway, but they wouldn’t have gone anywhere near this hateful shit. Hopefully the court will strike it down. If not, then the good citizens of California will defeat it next time.

R.J., just added you back to the blogroll.  Sorry, you move around so much I’m having a hard time keeping track.  Stay with the hope, not with the change. ;)

My state is a victim of H8 too. I’m not sure how deeply the LDS church was involved in the ban passed here in FL, but churches in general were up to their eyeballs in it.
