“Hillary’s Bitter Victory” by Matt Taibbi

Matt Taibbi

Here’s just a small taste of Matt Taibbi’s latest article for Rolling Stone:

Seldom in American politics has the same side of a single party split into such distinct and acrimonious factions. As virtually identical as the two candidates are in their political positions, there is no longer any common cause left between Hillary lovers and Obama supporters. There is only a culture war of epic proportions, featuring some of the most unlikely and absurd combatants in the history of impassioned conflict. Ordinary suburban Americans, people who consider Tina Fey biting satire and whose only “fighting” experience has usually been against trans fats or hair loss, can now be seen running through the streets, screaming war calls like Maoist guerrillas in the jungles of Nepal.

And that’s not even the best of it.  No one has done a better job of explaining the bug-eyed spit n’ spew anti-Obama lunacy you see on sites like No Quarter and HillaryIs44 than Taibbi does on page two. Just go read it.

Another spot-on piece by Taibbi. I was kinda hoping the Hillary dead-enders were confined to internet crazies, but I guess it’s a larger phenom.

Speaking of internet crazies, dunno if you’ve seen it or not, but today Mushy sank to subterrainian levels of self-aggrandizement and auto-pimpitude:

Too few commentators, even women themselves, have taken Hillary’s monumental candidacy to heart. Some of that is due to the traditional media’s flippancy towards women, but also because the fourth estate in this country is still backwards, not allowing women their due. This extends to radio, where even supposedly progressive outfits ignore women like myself who could truly make a difference if on the air. That’s why HLF has become so passionate about getting me back on radio, because she’s finally heard what constitutes Democratic radio. It’s not all that.

Jesus H. Christ on a hampster wheel! I guess her interview didn’t go so well, huh? Surely that’s due to sexism rather than to the fact that she’s a no-talent hack with zero serious credentials.

Yeah, I saw that.  What a goofball. I guess she forgot the fact that three of the biggest names in progressive radio are women: Rachel Maddow, Stephanie Miller and Randi Rhodes.  But I guess since they’re not strident Hillary supporters their sex has been neutralized.

Who’s HLF?  Does Marsh say anything that doesn’t revolve around her getting a radio gig?  I wouldn’t be surprised if she sends out “I’m avaliable!” notices every day, a la Debbie Schlussel.

The RS piece was nice and gritty.

I believe HLF is an asst law professor at a DC university who works in some capacity for the Clinton campaign.

Beautiful article. I’m just glad I’m not lumped in the “throwing panties” crowd.

BTW HLF = Heidi Li Feldman. Check out the bottom of her blog and you’ll see she’s quite connected with Hillary’s campaign.

And she has cats. Lots of cats. It must be a requirement or something. A cat in every pot!
