Hungover and still at the “make the world go away” stage?

Knee-deep in wrapping paper and/or relatives?

Still stumped by the instructions on that new toy?

Once you finally deciphered them and unearthed some batteries, has 2011’s must-have gizmo not lived up to the ad copy hype?

Or even worse, does the damn thing apparently have a mind of its own?

Oh well. Never mind. There’s always strong drink. Let it all hang out.

Had one of the nicest family Christmas dinners ever yesterday. They’re always pretty drama-free, but this was notable for how everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Not bad for 27 people, including 4 little kids who kept ramping up the energy all night long and managed to save their crashes for (I assume) after they got home. Even my hard-core evangelical cousin who sent out another crazy end-times email earlier in the day was perfectly enjoyable company.
And now I’m looking at a relaxing Sunday all on my own before it’s back to work at 7 Monday morning.

Just had to have a lie down after a monumental chicken dinner. It’s been a lovely warm quiet Christmas Day. That’s indoors. Outdoors, it’s pure shite. Not that I had any plans to venture out there anyway.

This is an open thread so I am posting something I found at Conservatives4Palin under a thread whose subject is predictions for 2012. I realize this is so stupid it may be poe but I have to pass this on:

“It comes out that obama is gay and his lover is the arab guy who used to be on House.”

Heh. The wingers have been positively willing teh gheyness on Obama since at least 2008 (see Larry Sinclair, among others), but the Arabic celeb twist’s a novel twofer.
