I LEGO N.Y.

The only thing missing from this image is my lovely (crazy?) wife Chris trying to swat the plastic bag out of the tree with a couple of long sticks held together with duct tape. Plastic bags caught in trees is what we refer to in our house as “the haunting.”

Check all of the absolutely wonderful NYC-themed LEGO interpretations here.

They are sheer poetry. And I was amused to see somebody else thinks the building I see out of my window is “the worst building in the world”. Is there another city in the world where there is enough shared appreciation of the most mundane details to make this sort of artwork?

Tree bags haunted Ian Frazier enough that he actually invented a tool specifically to snag them, called, unsurprisingly, the Bag Snagger. It’s not too different from Chris’s sticks + duct tape. Perhaps they’re still available.

That was a really fun piece.  Mr. marindenver alerted me to it a little earlier.  I think “stepping into bubble gum” and “worse” are my favorites.

Most unusual thing I’ve seen on the web this week - made me think of the way my brothers used to turn a stack of Reader’s Digests into cars that they drove around seat cushions liberated from the living room couch when they got bored with their real toys.

There is nothing like an active imagination.
