I loves me some Rachel Maddow

Rachel filled in for Keith Olbermann last night and dismantled the “flip flop” narrative, with the help of Richard Wolffe (“There’s been a lot of sloppy reporting going on”), adhered to Obama over the past few days. Bravo.

Rachel remains a goddess and is the most insightful, well-read and politically savvy commentator on radio and TV today. Which is probably why she’ll never get a prime time TV gig—a real pity considering the wretched state of political coverage.

I watched the broadcast last night too and had to laugh when she said the only time Fox News ever invited her to appear on the network was to serve on a panel discussing the Madonna-Britney Spears kiss kerfluffle. Rachel said she supposed they thought she had special expertise on that topic. She said no to Fox, to her further credit.

Actually, she scored really great ratings the first time she filled in for Olbermann and she’s also been the fill-in host for David Gregory on Race for the White House. I’d bet my bottom dollar she’ll get a slot on MSNBC when one opens up. I could easily see her get Gregory’s slot when the race for the White House is over or maybe Abrams’ slot.  I’m guessing his ratings haven’t been so hot since they had to do a reformat/name change for his show. Then again, MSNBC may think they’re a little too lefty heavy and push Michael Smerconish out in front of her.

Rachel rocks.

She is by far the best fill in guest for KO since Countdown has been a show.

I would think though, if anyone gets the next show, it’ll be Rachel. They like Smerconish ( I don’t know why, but really, the guy can be level headed once in a while, still a bit to far right leaning for my tastes) but I think Rachel is a very likable personality, bright, smart, imo beautiful.

She deserves the next show.  My better half and I are damn proud of her.
KO loves her, he has her on almost every night.
Actually its the 5 minutes segment we look forward to the most of KO’s show every eve.
