Mama-san has arrived, toting two family size bottles of plonk, one red, one white. Also two rotten bananas and a half-eaten yogurt, but the memory of an abandoned avocado half is torturing her.

Any prayers, expressions of well-wishes, etc, would be appreciated. The avocado was less than a week old.

To grandmother’s house we go

The GM in question is Norberto’s sister, and the trunk is loaded with presents for the grand-niece and -nephew.

I like to torture their mother, the daughter-in-law, by wrapping the childrens’ presents so exquisitely that it makes her weep to watch the children tear into them.

Hey, we all celebrate the season in our own ways.
