I Want Some of What Sharron Angle’s On!

Following her trippy appearance at the Conservative Right-on-Line gathering in Las Vegas, Sharron Angle went on Fox News to explain to Carl Cameron, in a giddy and giggly manner, just what her campaign’s philosophy was with respect to the press.

In case you aren’t sure you heard what you thought you heard, here’s a transcript courtesy of Fox:

Angle:  “We needed to have the press be our friend.”
Cameron:  “Wait a minute. Hold on a second. To be your friend…?”
Angle:  “Well, truly–”
Cameron:  “That sounds naive.”
Angle:  “Well, no. We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported.”
Cameron:  [speechless, laughs]

She then goes on to plug her website so people will give her money.  Pointing out that she loves to give the website address so people can give her money.

I don’t know, everyone pretty much assumes that candidates and journalists are complicit in spinning the news, maybe Sharron’s really a genius to just come right out and say it.  Or maybe she’s an idiot.  Guess we’ll have the answer to that one in November.

I vote “idiot.” And what a dilemma for Cameron—being charged with fluffing the ‘Bagger Queen and then having her go full-metal Forrest Gump on him.

IIRC, Angle loves Fox because they’re the only outlet that allows her to blatantly raise money like a street hustler.

I like her because she makes patriotism grotesque and smarmy…which it is anyway, but rarely in such an in-your-face, dear-God-is-this-a-human-being-or-a-giant-tapeworm sort of way.

I bet if you look in her garbage you’ll find dozens of empty cans of gold spray paint.

...

I never thought I could love Harry Reid.  But there’s such a difference between ‘somewhat clueless’ and ‘completely brainless’...

I’m even more surprised that Fox actually aired this.

Angle attacks Reid over “wasted” stimulus money:

In a news release, Angle focused her attention on a $71,623 grant awarded to the Wake Forest University Medical Center. Part of the university’s research involved studying the effects of cocaine on monkeys.

We had no idea Harry’s plan of ‘more’ meant spending millions on coked-up monkeys and exotic ants while our state is ravaged by the worst foreclosure rate and highest unemployment rate in the nation,” an Angle spokesman said in a news release.

The best part is Obtuse Angle thinks Friend = A person who does everything her way.

We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported.

Hell, it worked for Gee Dumbya!

I’m beginning to think the Republican Party is secretly rooting for the Democratic Party to retain power.  Maybe they know they can’t govern and prefer to be an annoying minority.

Good point.  They don’t believe in government anymore anyways.  So it makes sense that they’d rather be whiny assholes flinging poo from the sidelines instead of having to actually lift a finger and think or fix things.

Besides, gaining power would run counter to their little secessionist fantasies and late-night stroking over having their own little civil war. Then again, they seem pretty good at shooting themselves in the foot, so maybe they wouldn’t mind shooting at each other…
