“I’ll Be There” tribute to Michael Jackson—Celebrate Brooklyn—Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY

Following the excellent Femi Kuti show at Celebrate Brooklyn last night they played The Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” to honor Michael Jackson, who had passed away shortly before the show started. There was no announcement before it started and it was the only song they played over the PA at the end of the evening. Everyone sang along as they headed toward the exits.  It was a very nice, understated tribute.  I managed to catch the very end of it with my camera. Enjoy.

RELATED: For the record (and because I haven’t seen it get any play since he passed away), this was one of my favorite videos (and songs) by Jackson. Definitely one of his most honest songs and one of his most underrated. This is a release valve set to music…
