I’ll tell you what I’m looking forward to

I’m looking forward to the day the GOP stops running around, flapping its arms and giving vent to high-pitched distress calls because they’re afwaid of the nasty scary stupid elitist racist Latina, and starts running ads assuring Latinos and women that the GOP, and only the GOP, has their best interests at heart.

The only thing better will be the Michael Steele ads in which he attempts to convince African-American voters that the entire GOP isn’t a bunch of knuckle dragging maniacs who strike poses in white sheets and strike matches on wooden crosses well soaked in kerosene.

No sorry, that won’t be better. When Steele has to backpedal because Flush Limpbags doesn’t like the ads, that will be better than the GOP’s attempts to suck up to the Hispanic and female voters after the latest bout of shit slinging.

Not much better, but better.

OK, where’s the popcorn?

Since the rabid anti-Castro generation is giving way, the GOP can’t even count on the Cubans any more.

Oh, changing demographics, how I love thee.

The funniest/saddest truth is how clueless the GOP is that they are the cause of their own demise and they seem to relish every leap towards further immolation, because they pin their hopes on a “base” that is xenophobic, fearful, greedy, anti-science and in total denial.

They have become a bunch of lemmings just herding themselves off a cliff, gleefully believing that “glorious rapture” and victory awaits once they no longer have any ground to stand on.

Urbanization + Networking + Secularization + Multi-Ethnicity = the death of conservatism.

Conservatism is all about defending the establishment, and the establishment is rich, old, white men, and the ignorant and uneducated who want to be a rich, old, white man some day.

Their day is coming to a swift end, and they are going to go away kicking and screaming.

Give it another couple years of technological growth and we’ll be able to supply these backwards-thinking individuals with a VR environment that they’ll never have to leave.

Good for them, good for us.

I was talking to a friend this evening about the state of the GOP apropos of Sotomayor and the growing Hispanic electorate and he said, “They’re digging their own graves.”

I corrected him.  “Actually, they’re not only digging their own graves, they’re leaping into the hole and pulling the dirt in on themselves.”

I loved the guy on Rachel last night who said they’re “clawing their way to the bottom.”  And he was a Republican!

Given that we’re talking about the GOP, that phrase could have a number of meanings.
