It’s time to play “Funny or Not Funny?”

Today’s Edition: Media Elites Trying to Be Comedians

Brian Williams: Funny
Chris Cillizza and Dana Milbank: Not Funny

UPDATE: The Cillizza and Milbank video of “Mouthpiece Theater” was pulled by the Washington Post, probably because of the lame/sexist joke about Hillary Clinton drinking “Mad Bitch” beer.

UPDATE: Media Matters grabbed the video and posted it here.

I was just thinking, why haven’t we seen a “prowl” about Milbank?  I’m sure they’ll blame this on Obama,Brazile,Dean, etc.

Dana Milbank is such a dick.

It must really pain him that there is so much wit and talent out there commenting on politics, and that he possesses none of it.

Williams is a shitty anchor, but he’s always been a great Daily Show guest, including his most recent appearance.

Forgive the Newsbusters link, but this is a particularly funny transcript.

WILLIAMS: If you feel. I never left.  Just for the record.  It’s an amazing place.  You’re in this courtyard, 95-degree heat, he comes out of what is the equivalent of the West Wing; his residence is behind you.  You realize briefly you’re in this courtyard where the CIA would have given thousands of dollars just to see up-close.  It’s never; we have very little human intelligence in Iran.  And it was clear he had a message to impart.  It was clear from the moment we were picked up at the airport when we learned where the interview was going to be. Ten minutes after he walked out I was on the Today show from his courtyard: absolutely unheard of. And buried in his message—

STEWART: Let me guess the message.  Can I guess it?

WILLIAMS: Yes, Jon.

STEWART: Death to America.

Yep, as an anchor he comes off as the biggest stuffed shirt ever but as a guest on The Daily Show he’s pretty damn funny.  Remember he also took part in the “Giant Head of Brian Williams” bit.

Memo to PUMAs:

If you had kept your powder dry and refrained from shrieking incessantly about every action, inaction or comment by every male human in the political sphere as an act of woman-lynching, you might have had some credibility now to mount a serious campaign against these two douchebags.  Heck, you might have even attracted a few new followers.

Too bad you didn’t think through the long-term consequences of your behavior before leaping headlong into every fray.

I was just thinking, why haven’t we seen a “prowl” about Milbank?  I’m sure they’ll blame this on Obama,Brazile,Dean, etc.

No prowl yet, but Meatprod is asking the classic “why is racism worse than sexism?” question regarding Milbank in a post at the Effluence. Apparenty all of us Obots will think that line about Hillary was super funny.

I didn’t have much of an opinion on Cillizza but I’ve been pretty sure Milbank’s a total ass for a while now.  How he thought that “joke” was going to work is beyond me.

And Allan, yes.

I’m with dewberry on this.  Haven’t seen much on Cillizza.  My file on Milbank is pretty long, going back to his White House correspondent days.

I do want to say to Katherine Graham, if she can read beyond the grave, and somehow I think she might, I don’t think anyone holds you responsible for this generation of reptiles.
