Joe is wrong about one thing…

Dick Cheney is not a “fine fella:”

A true creature of the Senate—back when “comity” was a trademark of that legislative body—Biden is famously loathe to “impugn a man’s motives” as Gregory points out. He comes close when he says he can understand Cheney’s impulse to “rewrite history.”

I’ll spell it out: Displaying a unique combination of cowardice and greed, Bush and Cheney panicked after 9/11 and then seized on the country’s understandable shock, grief and fear to lie us into a ruinous war with a nation that had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks, subvert the Constitution and breach the long-standing international agreements that formed the framework of our moral authority in the world.

The Bush administration ruled through fear-mongering for seven straight years, shamelessly upping the terror alert level to swing elections and playing the terror card at every opportunity. Cheney is afraid that if the citizens of this country ever come out from under their beds long enough to assess the damage he and Bush wrought, they will denounce them as the war criminals and inept, corrupt servants of the rich that they are.

That is Cheney’s motive. Obama can personally hog-tie Osama bin Laden and completely stamp out al Qaeda, and Cheney will continue to call him an effete weakling. It is the only card Cheney has ever had and the only one he will ever play. The only question is how long will he get away with it. Sadly, the answer seems to be forever.

As usual, you nailed it, Betty. Imagine the outrage if Al Gore had gone on the teevees and continuously questioned how BushCo was handling national security. There would have been calls for his public execution.

I think it’s time someone (maybe me) creates a Shepard Fairey-stle t-shirt featuring a pci of Cheney with tape over his mouth and “STFU” under it.

And I actually agree with Peter Daou about this:

I’ll repeat: Cheney doesn’t care about current polls - he’s laying the groundwork to blame Obama in the event of an attack

I watched Dick this morning. It’s obviously very difficult for him to be anything but a vicious, conniving bastard whose sole motive in life is to punish his enemies and airbrush the blood-stained fingerprints from his eight-year reign of death, waste, plunder, kidnapping, incompetent strategy, partnerships with murderous tyrants, contempt for human rights, criminal disregard for Constitutional protections and cynical manipulation of Fear and the Flag to extort public support for a policy of national suicide.

Hopefully, every waking and sleeping moment of his life is haunted by images of being naked in shackles at the Hague. And may every history textbook from now to Eternity juxtapose his head-shot with Mussolini’s, as prime examples of men whose lives cheapened their national ideals, and whose personal weaknesses undermined the best hopes and aspirations of all people, everywhere.

Damn…couldn’t have said it better myself Strange!

Yeah that pretty much sums up the asshole.  The most sickening part is how everyone in the media give them cover.  Public embarrassment on camera used to be what the media went for on these shows, but that was a long time ago, even for a 60 minutes.  The media wants to relay Joe’s statements as controversial but in my eyes it’s still bitch-ass parsing of words.  Have a damn opinion and beat his ass in the street fight he’s been asking for.

Thank you Ms. Betty

I’ll go even further and wager Cheney is hoping for an attack, with all the implications that has about his character and patriotism (or lack thereof). No one on earth has done more to further the goals of al Qaeda than Dick Cheney, so it’s fitting that he and bin Laden share the same hopes while each imagines the other to be his nemesis.

From your keyboard to the Flying Spaghetti Monster’s noodly auricle.

Betty, have you ever seen Cheney and bin Laden photographed together?  Neither have I.  Hmmm…

Nothing would make Cheney happier than to see mass, utter destruction that would make 9/11 look like a quick tornado through Kansas.

He’ll hammer home how much of a pussy he thinks Obama is until Obama is out of office or the government-provided hardware that keeps what’s left of his heart beating ultimately breaks down.

That sorry prick never got over Nixon’s backing out of Southeast Asia and then his impeachment.

He’s passed his nasty personage onto his offspring who are just as hateful as he and his wife.

Oh and one other thing - why are Democrats still trying to hold this illusion of polite society while the Republicans are calling us everything but dead in every public venue possible?

Everything in Betty Cracker’s post to every one of the comments so far is totally spot-on in their analysis here!

I’ve never seen anyone who worked as hard as Cheney to live up to the name, DICK.

Cheney’s periodic unfolding of his leathery wings and awful talons should serve as a reminder to liberals hissing and scratching at each other over shadow differences: this is the real other side, the “dark side,” as he himself described it.
