Kasper Hauser’s “This American Life” parodies

I just heard the first “This American Life” parody embedded below (“Phantom High School”) on NPR’s “The Sound of Young America.”  It was created by the Kasper Hauser sketch comedy group and it’s as spot-on as it is hilarious. I haven’t heard their other parody episode “Going Postal” yet, but if it’s half as good as “Phantom High School,” it’s worth a listen, too.

You’re doing a blog show on a Monday? WTF? The Iggles and Cowboys are playing for god’s sake.

If you liked their TAL parody, you should really, really check out their book SkyMaul.  It is amazing and wonderful and fantastic all rolled into one.

These are pretty funny!  I actually like This American Life but I think parodies of anything are great when they’re this witty.  My favorite all time story:  the squirrel that kicked ass on the cops trying to scare him out of some people’s attic and they almost killed the homeowner and burned down his house.  Second favorite and complete classic - the Little Mermaid story.  Wish I had links to these but I think you can get them on CD’s on the NPR website.
