Leaping Fish Party: Movement to Draft Coke Ennyday for 2012 Run

Progressives, arise!

The Leaping Fish Party (formerly the Codpiece Prometheans) has identified its first draft candidate for 2012—Coke Ennyday, the Scientific Detective.

Against the rising tide of pseudo-populist Tea Party extremism, Liberals must now more than ever seek out and field fresh, edgy, finely-tuned candidates who not only talk the talk, but inhale the chalk. Candidates who eat, sleep, smoke, drink and occasionally mainline our values, our ideals, our lifestyles and our innate appreciation of surreal visual puns.

Coke Ennyday is such a man, and a candidate whose broad appeal will only be multiplied through the application of available sound recording technology. We hope that you will participate in our grassroots effort to talk him down into running (or at least dancing around nervously) on the Leaping Fish ticket. Online petition to follow. Extended video chapters below the fold.

The Codpiece Prometheans will be sorely missed, but We the People are more than ready to join Coke Ennyday and ride the Leaping Fish!

I am certainly glad that Anita Loos decided to go with “rolling in wealth” rather than “filthy rich.”

Possibly the best credit ever:

Bessie Love…..the Little Fish-Blower

The man has energy and a sense of style, attributes that are often missing in machine-stamped Dem candidates.

Also, he’s not afraid to take a hard line with wealthy elites and the Chinese.

Most important to me, he’s obviously committed to scientific innovation in general, and the adoption of smaller, more energy-efficient vehicles in particular.

Personally I think the Codpiece Prometheans represented a piece of history that we all had a share in and hung on to with possibly naive sentimentality but,at the same time, a bullish belief in all that this world could, and SHOULD be.  I for one, am not yet ready to to let codpieceprometheanism slip away from me that easily.

You’re right, marin; there ought to be a place for idealists like the CodProms to fly their proud banner under the Big Top in the carnival that is our national discourse.

Perhaps a coalition—may I suggest the Leaping Codpiece Prometheans? Imagine the look on the Tea Partiers’ faces when we unfurl our flag.
