Like shooting fish in a barrel.

I am sooo tired of Pat Buchanan. Can’t MSNBC get some other articulate Conservative windbag?

Ha! I knew you were going to beat me to posting this.

Finally, someone drives a trowel into Crazy Racist Uncle Pat’s trachea at the MSNBC garden party.  I’ve been stunned as to how many hosts and guests have been letting him unspool his “white man’s burden” shtick during the Sotomayor hearings.

Mr. Cracker and I have discussed the Buchanan phenomenon at length. Our theory is he must be a really fun guy off camera—a hoot at parties, a buyer of rounds at after work pub crawls, etc. Even those who clearly loathe his awful Father Coughlin-inspired worldview (like Maddow) seem to have affection for Pat himself.

This is one of things you watch and your jaw drops further and further - did he really just say that??

The only way this works for me is a “give a man enough rope” moment that might move MSNBC to remove him from their airwaves.

Rachel let way too many lies go unchallenged for my taste and didn’t maintain control of the conversation.

You shouldn’t enter a battle with the devil if you’re not prepared to fight to the death.

Consistently alienating one group at a time.  Well done, Pat!  That dude needs to take off the goggles and step into the year 1970.  At least.  He hit, women, latinos, and hockey players in one fell-swoop.  Hubby and I watched this last night.  I can’t figure out the Pat appeal for the life of me.  Other than it must be like when you have a batty relative that just says crazy shit and you look on in disbelief but love ‘em anyway because they’ve been alive for a hundred years and they just ain’t gonna change.  Like my 80 year old mom who called Obama a “hafrican”, and “colored” and didn’t think anything was wrong with that.

Pat really belongs on FOX.  I wonder if he’s just too crazy for FOX even?

It doesn’t say much for Maddow that she continues to have Buchanan on.

(I hope for her sake that it’s a contractual obligation.)

No, it says a great deal that Maddow continues to have Buchanan on. You want that stuff out in the open, so people can’t deny that it’s still around and still virulent.

Be honest, folks…don’t you think the majority of the white folks in the country thought this kind of stuff was dead and gone?
