March of the Winkies: Conservative C-Listers Race to Wisconsin for TP Rally

Aspirationally-named Tea Party group American Majority is importing Andrew “I’m Not a Homo” Breitbart, Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft and prank Presidential candidate Herman Cain to address an anti-union rally in Madison on Saturday. Unlicensed tradesman Joe “The Plumber” Wurtzelbacher may also make an appearance.

This will in no way benefit the people of Wisconsin, but hopefully there’ll be some really dumb video clips.

ThinkProgress has more on the “grassroots” origins of the counter-protest.

I know I’m not going unless they get Victoria Jackson…

Seriously, the Tea Party needs some new acts. This carnival is getting stale.

Glenn Beck is saying this all proves he was right about leftists joining hands with Islamofasccommies to impose One World Government. Booga-booga!

Didja see Rachel Maddow last night? She said this Repub union-busting drive is part of a wider strategy for eternal Repub dominance through control of political money, and unlike Beck, she had more than scribbles on a chalkboard to back it up.

Our Governor TeaTard down here is making similar noises about public employees and has already alienated my dumb redneck relatives who voted for him to stick it to the Kenyan.

I predict the GOP overplays its hand on a scale that makes Gingrich’s disastrous overreach look like mild murmuring at the Shady Oaks Brunch ‘n Bridge.

Unions are currently easy to demonize, and crushing them creates the illusion that you’re “fixing” the budget. Actually addressing systemic budget issues is going to require screwing a lot of non-union types, which is something people like Walker want to postpone as long as they can.

Also, what Maddow said. But in the long run I think Betty’s right about how that’s going to play.

Please, lefties, don’t even lightly brush the sleeve of any of these yahoos—you just know they’re itching for another Ken Gladney bloody shirt to wave.

I’m sure this grassroots action will finally put to rest the crazy idea that the teabagger ‘movement’ is a giant anti-democracy PR exercise funded by large corporations.

It sounds like one of those movie trailers.

What could possibly go wrong?

What Steve M. said.

Hell, I don’t think I’d even get close enough to brush against ‘em. All the pro-union folks need to make sure they stand all the way across the street from ‘em. Treat ‘em like Fred Phelps—they’ll look for any excuse to weep that they’ve been beaten up. It’s gonna look like amateur night of the NBA “I’ve been fouled” follies.

And film them. Every second they’re out there. Film them to make sure they don’t pull something shady.

ZOMG! Outside Agitators!!!

If history teaches, Andy Lightfart will be the first one trying to provoke a “hateful” reaction he can videotape and blame on the people he baited.

Those fuckers are all deigning to make their way to the Midwest?  Hm.  Madison isn’t that far away from me….

@Strange, this is to be expected.

What our side needs to learn is not to give Breitbart usable footage when he sticks a camera in our faces.

I suggested over at BJ that when confronted by him or one of his minions, you should repeatedly ask any or all of the following questions of your “interviewer”:

1. Did James O’Keefe have dildos and handcuffs onboard the yacht because he planned to rape CNN reporter Abbie Boudreau?

2. Do you have any comment on Shirley Sherrod’s libel suit against Andrew Breitbart?

3. When will you release all the raw video and audio captured surreptitiously in ACORN offices to independent investigators?

Of course, this is by no means an exhaustive list, but you get the idea…

You know, it’s something of a comfort to see the Right go so hubristic so fast, on so little.  Hopefully, this will shock the public out of their doldrums, and force the fence-sitters to realize just how bad things could get.

Of course, I thought the same thing about the Clinton impeachment, which was followed by the Bush Presidency—but then, the Republicans seem to have no idea how weak their brand is, so—hope springs eternal.
