Mission Accomplished!

Obama’s diabolical plot to turn warmongering wing-nuts into Pentagon-levitating hippies is proceeding apace. Now even House Minority Leader John “Boner” Boehner is calling for slashing the Pentagon’s budget:

I don’t think any agency of the federal government should be exempt from rooting out wasteful spending or unnecessary spending. And I, frankly, I would agree with it at the Pentagon.

Right on, Comrade Boner.

I have to admit that’s pretty ballsy for the orange one, especially because I don’t think there’s an elected official that wants to discuss the overall impact that the military-industrial complex has on our overall economy.

If the so-called small government deficit hawks had any concept of how much private business was wrapped up in defense welfare, their heads would fucking explode.

Excellent! Arrogant America needs to be humbled, and the stale myth of our “exceptionalism” laid to rest once and for all.

John Boehner understands that a hobbled, ineffective military is the first step on the road to a New and Greater Sense of National Humility.

Actually, Obama should take advantage of the fact that Pubbies knee-jerk reject any position he takes, and ask Congress to declare war on Iran. Conservatives and Blue Dogs would kill it on the cloture vote, and AIPAC would take revenge by endorsing the Dem’s health care reform package.

“wasteful spending or unnecessary spending” typically has a very different meaning when applied by Republicans to the DOD budget.

Example: $1 billion prescription drug program to help seniors = wasteful

$1 billion bomber which doesn’t work = jobs program.

I can see the Pugs egging on progressives to include defense cuts in their amendments to the budget to create a poison pill for the President.  That’s how they roll.

Boehner was such a turd on Meet The Republicans yesterday.  I laughed when David Gregory actually asked him some questions framed as criticism, and Boner’s eyes bugged out when he realized he had been put on the defensive for the first time ever by a TeeVee spokesmodel.  “This wasn’t in our Contract with the Media!”

Mr. President could solve a LOT of problems if he’d just announce National Please Don’t Eat Cyanide Day.
