New Trailer for “The Watermelon”

Our pal Brad Mays just released a new trailer for his upcoming film The Watermelon.  Came out great. Congrats to Brad and his wife Lorenda, the producer on the film. I’m a big supporter of indie film and wish them all the best.  And if I had more room out here in Brooklyn ... I want that watermelon trailer.

I would love to see the film about PUMAs Brad made.

Thanks for putting the trailer up. Very pleasant surprise.

It’s Kinky Friedman’s trailer!

Great, Brad. But now we’re all wanting one.

I want curtains with cowboys on them in mine.

“You’re gonna be sorry, little brother” is going to come in useful, too, I just know it.

(2nd trailer, the one with “walking after midnight)

The associated links after the trailer are quite a mix: AOD, Bin Laden Returns, and High Speed Watermelon peeling, which I can’t recommend highly enough.

@Brad, Love the trailer! Cant wait to see the movie, when does it release?

We’re doing some limited theatrical showings in towns we think will respond well. I’ll let you all know when that solidifies. DVD and Blu-Rays will hit the streets on July 4th. Thanks for the encouragement.

Mrs. Polly, that high-speed watermelon peeling is something to behold. Thanks for pointing it out.

Kevin, there’s actually someone living in the trailer at this time. I doubt you’d want it after you went inside. It smelled pretty bad two years ago; god only knows what it’s like now. I still own the pink slip, though, so if you wind up in a situation where you’ve got the space…

Oh, and Bigotbasher - if you’re serious, you can always order AOD from amazon.com

Everyone else - I came across this wonderful video today and I urge you all to watch it. Truly a blessing.

That was great, Brad!  It is a great song and the compilation of all those voices and cultures - very cool.  Liked the trailer too.  I love fun, quirky indie movies and this one looks like great fun.  Hopefully it’ll hit Denver.  We have some outstanding little art cinemas and these movies do very well here. So, keep us in mind!  And best of luck with it too.

I forgive you for your choice of soundtrack for the trailer. As I recall, you tried to warn me, and I should have known. Perfect fit, though, I do declare.

Honestly, this looks a much more fun and satisfying project than the previous one, and I’m anxious to see it.

I’m surprised, though, that you cast all the same actresses again…although a great ensemble troupe is often the key to a director’s success. Just ask Christopher Guest. ;->

Break a leg!
