New U2 music video “Get On Your Boots” (Unofficial Alternate Zombie-Killing Gorbachev Version)
Several months ago we posted a strange music video from the Russian “metal” band ANJ that featured, as we wrote at the time, “commie zombies, scantily-clad women, cool Rodchenko-style graphics, Twinkies raining from the sky and a muscle-bound Gorby running around slaying the undead” (more info here). Yesterday, after we got a look at U2’s video for their new single “Get On Your Boots,” we were instantly reminded of the ANJ video and decided to lay the U2 soundtrack over their “Gorbachov” video. We didn’t edit this at all. Just unleashed the audio right at the start. The synching between Bono and ANJ’s lead singer isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty amazing how well some of the musical and lyrical cues from the song work with the video. The song even ended at just the right moment. Enjoy.
