Not-so-shorter Andrea Mitchell

This, in a nutshell, is what Andrea Mitchell (and several other members of Our Stupid Media) has been saying for the last few days:

Even if Sarah Palin stomps puppies to death with her bare feet on live TV, Obama, Biden, their surrogates, and the mainstream media would be wise to avoid criticizing her for it because every woman in America really identifies with Sarah and there would be a huge backlash.

The media, whose members were originally gorging on Palin’s perceived grit, isn’t treating her like the pit bull she claimed to be, they’re pampering this astoundingly unprepared pinhead like she’s a pedigree Pomeranian entered in the toy group at the Westminster Dog Show.

RELATED: Palin came off even worse in the far-less-edited Nightline version of the Charlie Gibson’s first interview with her. If anyone finds the whole thing (including her views on global warming and drilling in ANWR), please drop a link in the comments.

If she’s so tough, let’s see her sit down for an interview with Andrea Mitchell.

As Tbogg said, she looked like a “moose in the headlights” after than Bush Doctrine question.

Wouldn’t this be a good time to repost that photo of Ms. Mitchell with those two scamps from the Hillary rally?

I think so.

I responded to our newest concern troll chupacabra in the “RNC in a minute” thread if anyone wants to check it out.  What a goofball.

One part is here.

The ABC News video library is almost impossible to navigate.  And you usually have to watch an ad before every clip.  Oh, and no embedding.

Thanks Steve, but that’s the edit they used on the evening news.  They used a differently edited version of his sit-down with her for the Nightline broadcast.  That’s the one I’m trying to track down.  Doesn’t look like ABC put that one online (just her additional comments about global warming and ANWR).

I recorded the Nightline version but can’t offload it from my stoopit AT&T;U-Verse DVR. Need to get another piece of equipment to accomplish that and will do so eventually. Hopefully a full version shows up on the world wide internets sooner.

I think more of those Moose Moments will be coming at the debate and, unless they manage to keep her totally under wraps until then, probably at every interview she gives.  Pop - hope you will keep updating the Palin Hype Cycle.  It’s going to be interesting to see how she fits into that.

I’ve been looking quite a bit and all I can find from Nightline last night is just the tack on global warming/ANWR stuff (at ABC News, YouTube, etc.). They not only used a different edit with additional dialog for the sit-down interview on Nightline, but I just watched it again and they even used different camera angles for some of the questions. Her expression when he asked the Bush Doctrine question is priceless.

marin, I agree. I want to see how the rest of the Gibson interviews play out, but I’m thinking she is right at the peak of inflated expectations and heading into the trough of disillusionment. I will update the graph soon and post it again.

If there was such a thing as HDMI to firewire cable, I’d be home free. With that I could just feed the show over to my Mac, and then edit to my heart’s content. But such a thing doesn’t exist, as least as far as I can tell it doesn’t.
