On, Donner and Blitzen Trapper!

Here’s a David Lynch-ish holiday greeting from the great band Blizten Trapper for you to enjoy.

SIDE NOTE: Blitzen Trapper’s album Wild Mountain Nation is my favorite of ‘07 (think Pavement meets the Kinks) and this year Rumproast will be teaming up with Rob from FREEyourmindandyourasswillfollow to unveil our best music of ‘07 picks.  Stay tuned.  Should be rolling in Wednesday or Thursday.  If you have any recommendations you’d like to sneak in, please do so in comments.

I really like the new one from Spoon, but I guess you know about that one. I’m kind of surprised how much I like the Robert Plant & Alison Krauss CD.  I think I’ve listened to that more than anything this year.

My big three are Ian Brown, the Fields, and Mogwai.  Also on the shortlist are the Sea and Cake, Electrelane, the National, Hold Steady, John Vanderslice.

Best thing I downloaded: bunch of Hank Williams radio shows.

Best purchase: The Brit Box.  God, is that good.

I forgot Blitzen Trapper and Rock Plaza Central.

I think the great overlooked album of the year is Nina Nastasia and Jim White’s “You Follow Me.”  My other fave is “Boxer” by the National.

(This is Elisa using Mark’s sign on by the way.)
