Some Republican members of Congress took to Twitter on Thursday to declare victory after CNN and Fox News had inaccurately reported that the individual mandate had been struck down.

They quickly deleted their “victory” messages, but the Sunlight Foundation’s Politwoops site, which archives deleted Twitter messages of elected officials, found them.

Here is what a half dozen lawmakers had to say when they thought the Supreme Court had ruled against the individual mandate, the centerpiece of the health care overhaul.

I assume that plenty of right wing bloggers had their snotty gloating posts all saved up and ready to launch the moment the decision was declared. How delicious that they had to hit Delete.

I read a community board and today the diehard Independent Assholes were outraged, outraged I say! about the decision. One guy was comforted that his favorite Judge Scalia (no, really) had a dissenting vote. They were furious about government taking a hand in mandating healthcare.

fuck ‘em.

It would be interesting to know who gave the go ahead on those headlines.  FauxNews doesn’t care if they’re accurate or not but CNN might.

I can’t speak for the rest of the First World, but on BBC Radio 4 News they had clips of Obama giving his statesmanlike speech, then some reactions, including a winger ranting about COMMUNISM!!! The concensus in our home was what you’d imagine.

It would be interesting to know who gave the go ahead on those headlines.  FauxNews doesn’t care if they’re accurate or not but CNN might.

Don’t know about the process on Fox News, but the behind-the-scenes fireworks at CNN are quite well documented.
