Poor pandering Mittens—that probably sounded less like rubbish when standing in a stage with “Let’em die” Ron Paul.  It’s a leeetle less sensible when all the voters in the northeast are a week from election day and looking at the water rise.

Well, you know, he’s already backing up on the hard line position…as we knew he would. His campaign calls it “clarifying”, but we all know what it REALLY is….

Heckuva job, Mittens!

Considering how often “hundred year storms” are occurring, FEMA is going to be demonstrating the value of “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help” over and over and over.

And the back of my hand to the climate-change deniers also, too.

Con Ed is likely to shut power to Lower Manhattan tonight, so cheers, Roasters, and see you on the flip side of this here dreadful thing!

“In May 2009, the Obama administration conducted a simulation exercise around the possibility of a Category 3 hurricane hitting New York City, White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters Friday.

The National Level Exercise, as it is known, was part of a coordinated effort by federal officials to prepare for a variety of disaster scenarios, including one very similar to what is likely to take place this weekend. President Obama himself participated in the exercise, one of the first of its kind by the new administration.”

The difference is stark.  It’s the difference between people who believe in the ability of people to do important necessary things with existing institutions, and people who don’t think it’ll be done unless someone in making a buck off of a tragedy.  I trust Obama. I can’t trust Romney to do the job right because he simply doesn’t believe in it.  That disturbs me.

Oh, Rmoney would do the job, but only if he can acquire FEMA, chop it up into sellable parts, gut their retirement plan, and walk off with all the money.

Now tell me folks, if this M&A model (as appled to government) isn’t totally what Mitt’s been training for his entire life.  The base may have hated him from Day One, but he’s exactly the guy the plutocrats need in charge of the government, because he will do to all of uswhat he has done to all the firms Bain parasitized, bled out, and destroyed.  He’ll smile nicely while doing it, so there is that to console us I guess.

Damn, I wish (1) safety to all in the path of Sandy, and (2) that this election was over (with the desired outcome of course).  Stay safe Mrs. Polly!
