Pissing your money away

You know that queasy feeling you had about the $700B bailout—the nagging suspicion that the Bushies are handling the financial meltdown with the same level of competence, transparency and forthrightness they demonstrated in addressing Hurricane Katrina and the Iraq War? Your worst fears are confirmed. Even the people charged with figuring out what the hell the Feds are up to can’t get answers to the most basic questions:

We are so screwed.

OMG. I was listening to lawmakers berating Kashkari (rhymes with “cash and carry”!) on NPR yesterday, and much as I hate to say/admit it, they were right to. The whole thing makes me sick. (On an amusing note, I am scheduled to have lunch with my financial advisers at the Capitol Grille today, along with some big shot from Janus. Talk about berating.)

In other news (shameless plug), I am equally spellbound by what’s going on in Illinois with now disgraced Governor Rod Blagojevich.

It’s been a heckuva season for shock and awe.

Oh, and Go Gators!
