Wow, back before the days of the polyphonic synthesizer. Back when Wendy Carlos was called Walter. I even remember the lyrics to that little melody.
Ah, youth! Ah, statute of limitations!
I’m ALWAYS having more than one.
Ah Schaefer, the second beer I ever puked up as a teenager (after Carling Black Label). Haven’t seen that pisswater in ages—does it still exist? I know, I could go to the Googles to find out. But to be honest, I’d rather not know.
Awesome.
And I think I wore that shirt in my high school graduation picture.
Kalehoff is still around, by the way. (Click “samples” to can hear every theme-music cliche ever….)
This clip was part of the movie “Moog” about Robert Moog and his development of the synthesizer. The film was actually great, especially some of the clips of Moog talking with some of the musicians who used the instrument to shape the music I grew up listening to (Rick Wakeman and Keith Emerson, for example).
I wish I could go back in time and be this guy’s girlfriend.
Tom, the oscilloscope is used to provide extra grooviness, which in the case of that video was completely unnecessary.
That brought back all sorts of memories - Moog music:me = madeleine:Proust.
“From the land of sky blue waters…”
Now those were some beer commercials.
