You’re right, StrangAppar8us and Betty Cracker. I should expect some horrible posts, but what’s truly horrifying is that this is the closely moderated version.
And it isn’t just racism. This is a “movement” which says it stands against sexism and decries the comments in the media about Senator Clinton’s appearance and then turns around and posts the most vile comments on Donna Brazile and Cynthia Crowly, mocking their hair and their weight. (Read Micheal Varvel’s posts at Riverdaughter’s. And weep.) And this blatent sexism and “lookism” is embraced by sister/fellow posters and the moderators. There is a cognitive disconnect among PUMAs which makes my head ache.
Morning Song’s “offensive” posts have been removed from pumapac, but many, many more remain, including these two gems:

Gawd, just think!!! If Obama’s mother had believed in Pro-choice, we might not be in this mess!!!

People living in upper middle class neighborhoods that are primarily sheltered from areas and talk in the less fortunate places have absolutely no idea what a powderkeg America has become. There are many who would die to see Obama elected…and many who would die to make sure he isn’t. It’s scary, and I just hope we can make it through the election without any ‘incidents’.
I shouldn’t be surprised at the cognitive disconnect. After all, this is the same group that states that democracy and the will of the people will be best served if we deny the expression of the will of the people (all the contests, all the states, and yes, all the “misguided” superdelegates who exercise the independent judgment the PUMAs themselves call out for and choose Senator Obama) and give the Democratic nomination to Senator Clinton because, in their judgment, she is the “best qualified.”
Yeah, I might like to live in the fantasy world where my judgment about who is best qualified determines the winner and the rest of the voters be damned. (Boy, the results of the 1972 election would be way different, and that’s just for starters!) But that’s not the world we’re living in.
