Quote (and Post Title) of the Day

Thers on the Texas Death Panels:

Funny, ain’t it, how people screeching about completely imaginary, hypothetical abuses of government power in regards to healthcare won’t be troubled even a little bit by this extremely clear instance of state officials essentially conspiring to murder an innocent man.

I originally saw the New Yorker article about the murder, as did Thers, via Scott at LG&M.

Further evidence (as if any were needed—not!) that the GOP is made up almost entirely of cynical, corrupt, power-hungry assholes who don’t give two shits in a hat about justice or sound governance. It’s all about distracting the rubes. Tough on crime! Death panels! And on the whole, the Dems are only marginally better. Bill Maher was right—this is a deeply stupid country.

They’re “pro-life” when it comes to fetuses and people in permanent vegetative states. Otherwise, not so much.
