Reason No. 2,978 That I’m Thankful Obama is Our President and Not John McCain

Via Think Progress:

Are we all Iranians today, John?

By contrast the Obama administration has refrained from jumping in, taking sides and immediately calling for sanctions for many very good reasons.  A good discussion of that here in The Washington Independent.

The response of the Iranians themselves to the election results, being denounced as fraudulent, are apparently having an effect on their government as well.  Ayatolla Ali Khamenei, the guy who calls the real shots over there, is now calling for an investigation into the election results.  Who knows what will come of that, but interjecting our presence, as McCain would like to do, would just polarize the government there and turn the situation into an “Iran v. U.S.” thing.  The Iranian people may not be able to take their country back this time but they are making the government sit up and take notice.

Oh, and guess who else wants Obama to stand up and rattle the sabers loudly?  Let us hear it in comments, folks!

UPDATE:  Thankfully Wonkette is all over this too.

kristol meth? joe lieberman?

I can’t watch Candy, or Sheree, Or Bitsy, or Megyn, or whatever that blonde woman’s name is, without invountarily crossing my eyes, which is reason #87,698 why I don’t watch Fox News.

Oh yeah, and fuck Bill Kristol.

I’m with McCain, I think we should go crash a plane on them right now.

Joe “Party of One” Lieberman.  Will we hear from Limbaugh too?

Kristol’s Law: Whatever he proclaims as a good idea, do the direct opposite.

Ah screw it. I see he’s getting panned in the comments to his petulant squeakpiece anyway. Anything I could add would be just gelding the lily-livered chickenhawk.

I love how Fox News discusses the Iranian election, but instead of going to an expert on the country and region to give its viewers some context, they goto John McCain instead.  It’s like Fox actively tries to be dumber than rocks.

Tas, you may have hit upon a new tagline for their network:

Fox News: Actively Trying to Be Dumber Than Rocks.

Fox News: Actively Trying to Be Dumber Than Rocks.

And succeeding brilliantly!

its really strange..if the votes were indeed rigged, it would mean that it possibly had the blessing of Ayatollah Khomeini, the guy who really calls the shots..i mean Ahmedinajad couldnt take a dump without the Ayatollah permission….so if there was fraud, then the Supreme Leader Ayatollah had to have played some role in ensuring Ahmedinajad won.

I can’t decide which half of this dialogue is more inane. It’s hard when there’s an idiot on each side of the screen.

Fox News: When We Hit Bottom, We Dig Deeper

What is MOST inane is what Betty just posted top o’ this.  My, my, the crazy and the stoopid just keep coming.

Whatever happened to Bomb, bomb, bomb. Bomb, bomb Iran?
