And to answer Mrs. K’s question about early absentee or mail-in votes—from my experience reporting on election results here in paradise, those votes will be the first results I post tomorrow night once the polls close (PST).
Now, there are major differences between how states run their election offices, but in CA, or more precisely in Humboldt County, the votes already received have already been counted and they will be the first results posted by the election office.
