Gotta love that breezy “outdated liberal dogma (affirmative action, etc.)” Especially since (if my aging memory hasn’t failed me) affirmative action was started under the notorious Demon-rat liebrul Richard Nixon.

Mr. Cohen finds Affirmative Action offensive, but Clarence Thomas is jake—after all, you have to make allowances for a racially isolated youth who never learnt the requisite social graces.

Most accounts chart the beginning of affirmative action with LBJ’s executive order 11246, which dictated that “the contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, creed, color, or national origin.” Richard Cohen has a point, though—it’s hard to deny that the WaPo basically destroyed its op-ed page by hiring all those blacks and Latinos.

It does look poorly-thought and peevish just to squeak “all of it!” so he had to come up with an example.

Why he chose that example, who could possibly say.

One look at Cohen’s (s)mug after scanning the headline and that tab was consigned to the memory hole. I am not sure that page stayed open for more than a second.

Can’t stand to look at that hack, let alone read his scrivelings. If I end up in hell I just realized that I would be forever forced to read Cohen and McMEME While watching slide-shows of face shots, with an occasional break having to listen to every blogginheads thing Megan has participated in.
